1) Who thought it would be a good idea for a series finale to have a main character doing something so terrible (try to make his dad and future stepmom postpone or maybe even cancel their wedding just so he can go to a sports competition), even if he learns the lesson by the end? Actually, OTTO had already done similar things throughout the series. This is a way of saying that he hasn't changed and maybe never will... but it's not done like a deep character study; clearly they want us to just laugh at him.
2) For a series finale that focuses on the main characters having a new stepmom, NOELANI barely has role in the episode. Her mom is in it more!
