I had this post on imdb. So i just brought it here.
I Think the prequels need to be specialized, the CGI is showing, but now you can have better CGI, so why not update some scenes? Also get rid of some annoying sounds like the roger , rogers of the droids and maybe the Nooo of Darth Vader.
I recently learned that fox has the physical distribution rights until 2020 but 3 years is not a long time to update a movie and in 2020 they would be ready for re-release by Disney.
Do it, Disney.

The "Nooooo" Darth lets out should be replaced with just a simple anguished scream.

Aren't they "special" enough already?

I'd argue that they should just be remade. It would probably make some purists upset, but make the Lucas prequels non-canon and start over.

They can replace all the CGI with practical effects.

Do you know if alterations are permitted? I'm really curious. I think Disney will reissue them in 2020 in a physical format. The only thing is ANH is always going to be distributed by Fox. And they are a pain in the arse to work with.

I say they should just wait until Lucas's heart gives out, then ignore the contract, and remake them anyway.

Keeping Lucas as far away from his own creation as possible is sadly the only way to guarantee it keeps being good.

I'm all for it. I enjoyed the prequels a LOT MORE than the ridiculous "The Force Awakens". I wouldn't mind the prequels getting a little bit of an update. The CGI can be updated and some of the unnecessary comical scenes (mainly with Jar Jar Binks) should be cut out.

Fan edits already exist, (see anti-cheez edition), featuring changed alien dialogue w/ subtitles for the trade feds & Jar Jar is completely reworked with subs, altogether a completely different way to see the prequels, & not cringe the entire way through.
