When Eight Bells Toll (1971) How was it? I found it to be a good nautical spy-thriller. Story can be a little convoluted, but the pacing is tight, action set-pieces are poised and Anthony Hopkins gives a stalwart performance alongside an amusing Robert Morley. There’s a real James Bond feel to it. Definitely one of the more entertaining Alistair MacLean film adaptions.

 The Sphinx (1981) 4 months later Raiders of the Lost Ark came out and no one remembered this "other" archaeological/adventure thriller. I imagine if Lesley Ann Downe actually wore this outfit in the film that was in the publicity shots, it might have drawn more viewers... LOL  |
