 Gulliver's Travels 1939
Max Fleischer of Popeye and Betty Boop fame wanted to compete with Disney, though a commercial success the production costs were too high to even make a marginal profit. After one more try Mr. Bug Goes to Town aka Hoppity Goes to Town, they gave up and concentrated on shorts instead. Sorry for the "history" lesson!
