Is That Movie any good ? It's not bad. I expected it to be a little better, though. The story also touched on the effect on the sailors' families. I was surprised to see Max von Sydow and Colin Firth in it. They had lesser roles.

I also watched this most memorable yet progressive film for it's time
a few nights ago on the channel TCM ( Turner Classic Movies )
and no matter how old this movie is it just gets better with age ( IMPO ) .
Also read the book in high school back in the day too
and just could not put it down
it was a real page turner indeed .
I will admit it's a real heartbreaking storyline but it's definitely an historical one we will never forget either
( IMPO - it seems to be a storyline that we can all learn from as well ) .
Thanks so much Red Horizon for these excellent pic selections
and for this wonderful film reminder here too .

Also watched this Noir film this past weekend on TCM
( and surprisingly for the very first time )
IMPO quite a good and riveting film for it's time as well .
and was based on an unsettling true story too .
