Shanghai Story (1954) Great film, Edmond O'Brien is good, and the story is actually pretty involving. Some pretty tough scenes for an early 1950's film, a little girl's dog gets shot point blank and there is a potential rape scene that gets broken up at the last minute. I noticed some of the characters playing Communist Chinese soldiers were in a lot of WW2 films playing Japanese soldiers/pilots typically for Warner Bros. films. Philip Ahn was one of the soldiers who played a part in one of the Mr. Moto films as well (and a massive amount of other films).

I feel like I know this film. That's Kerwin Mathews on the left? Is it from his OSS 117 film?

Did he survive a train wreck or did a train wreck never happen? an art forgery and museum plot noir. Pat O'Brien, Claire Trevor and Herbert Marshall in Crack-Up 1946. Not tops, but certainly interesting if you like old black-and-white noirish movies

Silver Linings Playbook Rather tough to watch, but worthwhile to follow to the end, well, that's my opinion.

1917(2019) I really looked forward to seeing that and was very disappointed.

1917(2019) I really looked forward to seeing that and was very disappointed. I'm not a big war movie buff, but I liked it quite a bit. The story kept me interested throughout, and I was particularly impressed with the cinematography.
