Did he survive a train wreck or did a train wreck never happen? an art forgery and museum plot noir. Pat O'Brien, Claire Trevor and Herbert Marshall in Crack-Up 1946. Not tops, but certainly interesting if you like old black-and-white noirish movies

Silver Linings PlaybookRather tough to watch, but worthwhile to follow to the end, well, that's my opinion.

Shanghai Story (1954) Great film, Edmond O'Brien is good, and the story is actually pretty involving. Some pretty tough scenes for an early 1950's film, a little girl's dog gets shot point blank and there is a potential rape scene that gets broken up at the last minute. I noticed some of the characters playing Communist Chinese soldiers were in a lot of WW2 films playing Japanese soldiers/pilots typically for Warner Bros. films. Philip Ahn was one of the soldiers who played a part in one of the Mr. Moto films as well (and a massive amount of other films). Sounds interesting and thanks for the suggestion!

1917(2019) I really looked forward to seeing that and was very disappointed. I'm not a big war movie buff, but I liked it quite a bit. The story kept me interested throughout, and I was particularly impressed with the cinematography.

WUSA (1970) Very interesting Paul Newman film along with Anthony Perkins, basically forgotten. Location shooting is excellent along with a great Lalo Schifrin score.

Buddy buddy car cops movie, romancing a girl, and dealing with a very violent racketeer and club owner. Edmond O'Brien. Gale Storm and Mark Stevens in Between Midnight and Dawn 1950, not bad at all, balancing between lighter moments and more serious and darker situations City is un-named but some alert reviewer spotted some Los Angeles locations.
