The New York Ripper (1982) "Quack-quack"That is a very innocent and sweet image, from a surely not so "innocent and sweet" movie.

Erich von Stroheim and Madeleine Sologne in La foire aux chimères aka Devil and the Angel aka Carnival of Illusions. French drama with crime and l'amour. A master engraver, with a disfigured face, fall in love with a blind circus girl, they marry, but to keep her in luxury, the master engraver starts making counterfeit money to cover the expenses. Not a full-proof plan as it will turn out in the end... Somehow, I know that this one, seemed very interesting, and I had been meaning of giving it a go, but then I forgot the title/actors in it. Thanks for freshing up my memory, and I will surely not do the same mistake, twice. Looks like a good film. Thinking on the "similar" plot, with a disfigured, older man, falling for a beautiful young circus girl, could it be, that I learnt of this 1946 film, from last years surprisingly enjoyable Linnea Quigley horror-drama, Death Mask?
