I may have to consider getting 'The Outing' on blu as well. I've got it as part of Shout! Factory's 4 movie dvd package, and while I did enjoy the film, the video quality was pretty lousy. Hopefully the blu-ray will brighten things up a bit. |

The Outing / The Godsend (Double Feature) (Blu-ray) I may have to consider getting 'The Outing' on blu as well. I've got it as part of Shout! Factory's 4 movie dvd package, and while I did enjoy the film, the video quality was pretty lousy. Hopefully the blu-ray will brighten things up a bit. Yeah I picked up the same 4-movie pack release by Shout! or Scream Factory a few years ago. Pretty entertaining movie but I read that it might have been a edited/cut version, and that there is an uncut release called The Lamp (same movie, different title) or something, so maybe I will have to look further into this newly released copy as well. |

Friday the 13th (8-Movie Collection) (Blu-ray) This might sound a bit stupid, (have not been very updated on the Friday the 13th DVD-Blu-ray releases) but are any of the recent (last 8-10 years or so) of the many, many DVD-Blu-ray releases of this popular horror franchise ever been put out in a completely uncut (beside the first movie, or I think) version? I notice that this 8-movie pack says it is the "Ultimate" edition, but does it come with much new bonus features and so on? I only have two different (one region 1 and one region 2) of the older "From Crystal Lake to Manhattan" box-set, and I am planning on doing a bit of an upgrade, but will not chip out more money on yet another box-set which offers little or nothing else than maybe a bit better picture/sound quality but that's pretty much it. |

I think it's just a collection of the eight Paramount movies, with only the first film remaining truly uncut. It probably has all previous bonus features on the deluxe edition DVDs but nothing new.
To be honest, I got it so I could have parts VII and VIII on Blu. The stand-alone release of that double feature was going for too much money.
Besides, one of my haunts had this on sale this past Friday (seeing that it was Friday the 13th). It was a $40 (Canadian) value on sale for $20, so it wasn't a hard decision to make.
