Xmen 1 was revolutionary, not Blade no one remembers that film. Without Blade, odds are they wouldn't have made the X-Men movies. They didn't successfully use the ensemble, at all. Secondary roles as love interests or henchwomen or background props. How it basically said "Yeah, the last few movies sucked so we're going to contrive a way to change them instead of moving forward." It is an ensemble film and it pulled it off regardless of your opinion on it. It will go down in history as the 1st multi-featured superhero film and since it got great reviews, it is successful. Sorry Avengers, you're not new. Xmen would have been made regardless of Blade. Its not like no superhero movies existed before then. And why does everyone in the film industry credit Xmen1 as starting the comic book movie craze and not Blade? Xmens female cast in X1 and X2 are more progressive than anything MCU has put out. You say they are love interests, when Black Widiw is reduced to a failing love subplot in AoU, but you can argue Jean and Rogue are the main characters from the first 2 films as both main plots revolve around them. MCU has done nothing in 15+ films with its female cast, they are thrown into the background and given weak arcs. And whilst we're on topic of how Fox has revolutionised the CBM genre you can throw in Logan and Deadpool too. And probably New Mutants if its good.

So in the end there is nothing exceptional about the X-Men films. Blade is the film that saved comic book movies. The Raimi Spider-Man films were the ones that broke away from always using black leather on all the superheroes. And the Nolan Batman films and the MCU were the films that took things to the next step. The X-Men never did anything groundbreaking on screen and never will. So much ignorance and stupidity in this statement.

It is an ensemble film and it pulled it off Poorly. An early attempt that didn't get it quite right. They just want free publicity for mentioning X-Men. Hardly. Rogue and Jean are nothing but accessories to Logan. Compare them to someone like Nebula. Says you. Logan was nothing new, it just got kids' gloves treatment due to it being Jackmans Swan Song. And Deadpool wasn't that new either, it wasn't even the first R rated CBM. It just had better marketing than usual. New Mutants won't be good.

TEXT: In talking with Empire, Turner raved about Kinberg's directing prowess, and how he's perfect for the film by saying, “Simon has been the brain behind X-Men for years, and it’s really exciting to have what feels like one of our own rise up and take hold of the franchise, and direct it in the way that he sees it,” Turner remarked. “I have to say he’s one of the best director I’ve ever worked with. He’s so passionate and collaborative.” While the GAME OF THRONES alum clearly has full-confidence in Kinberg's ability to deliver a rock-solid X-Men movie, the rabid fandom of the franchise might need some more convincing. As the interview continued, Turner described DARK PHOENIX as a "dark, gritty drama," and promised that the goal of the film to create a new benchmark for superhero-related entertainment. “We are revolutionizing it. We wanted to create a whole new genre of superhero movie.” The sequel itself will involve Jean discovering that her powers have reached a godlike state, and that a more sinister personality may very well be manifesting itself inside her. However, even with all of the phoenix mumbo jumbo serving as the central plot of the film, Turner shared with Empire that while "The X-Men go cosmic," the project will remaind a very grounded and "personal" story. Lastly, Sophie also elaborated on the "personal" vibe of the story by saying that, "Once I got the script though, I realized that not only were we telling this amazing superhero story, but we were also telling a very personal story as well," Turner said. "One which required research into mental health issues. Because that is a big part of what drives the story. I mainly drew inspiration from multiple personality disorder and schizophrenia, as it is really about duality, this movie. Darkness and light - that's all within her. This sense of being a completely other person and her struggling with that." www.joblo.com/movie-news/sophie-turner-says-x-men-dark-phoenix-will-revolutionize-superhero-films-230Maybe the first major nude scenes...

Maybe the first major nude scenes... Hell, didn't Deadpool already feature male and female frontal nudity? I have no idea. I bought the blu ray once, saw it and was so bored to death that I can hardly recall it. I've also sold the blu ray by now. Deadpool is also no "regular" movie of the franchise: neither with an A-movie cast or budget, nor with the aim of the audience. They also don't used the opportunities of an R-rated movie (Watchmen was rather going in this direction - a mature movie adressing serious issues with the freedom a R-rated movie provides) but wasted it for cursing and cheap jokes. I was rather disgusted than amused (school kids behave more mature). But thankfully, I was sleepy enough to get over it after say half an hour. Some find fart jokes, for instance, great and laugh their ass off with every fart, I'm more: please don't. But this was the level of "humour" in Deadpool. It was more a sanctioned parody version of these genre movies in the style of "Meet the Startans ". Edit: And no: www.mrskin.com/deadpool-nude-scenes-t55043There was hardly any nudity.

Leaked images of the new Xmen costumes in Dark Phoneix. Look like the Morrison Era ones. These may only be in the opening space rescue scene, hopefully we'll get individual suits later.
