Why not it's a great place, and unless you end up in a really strange drinking competition you almost never have to lick them. LOL, spoken like a seasoned traveler! more like an alcoholic. Last night a girl I was hanging out with at New Years comes to sword club and says, "Beardy (another guy at new years), does not even recall the three hour conversation on religion you guys had on new years eve" I'm like "we had a three hour conversation on religion on New Years eve?"

Yeah like all the hippies who rediscovered the native religions. But also in the kind of circles where Atlantean crystal magic was studied that sort of thing. I just think that "new age" bands' involvement with LSD is small and came late compared to other bands that don't go under the label "new age" (eg. The Beatles). No, not new age bands, new age magicians. The revival of occult in the 60's and 70's.

My humble opinion - that girl's just messing with you and Beardy, the conversation really did not happen.

Possibly, I can read him fine, Crowley did experiment with LSD, but I was thinking of some of the books that were basically that the spiritual could be reached with LSD.

Really?
In the hermetic world, Crowley was known to deliberately place mistakes in his texts. That is why passages read like a "word salad".

Yup it's called mountweaseling, if you cross reference or even if you already have an understanding you can normally see through it. Interestingly enough there is a current argument that the western martial arts teachers may have used it too, eastern ones are known to have.

Well I may not personally know any weasels, but I understood what Crowley was doing on my initial read of his "Book of Thoth".

Simply stated, if an author is constructing an "inside joke"that is perhaps available to his close friends/initiates and not the general public; a misunderstanding could occur. That would be irregardless of your IQ and frame of reference.

That is not what mountweaselling is.

Actually, with the all-caps-bellowing-at-the-kids-these-days subject line... it fits right in.

You described it you clown!!! It is intentionally making mistakes in texts to obfuscate the truth from those who cannot interpret it correctly, for example swapping Binah and Chokmah on the tree of life, or talking about attacking with your left foot forward but drawing the picture with your right foot forward.
