Expecting two characters who lived in the 19th century to have the same sensibilities as people or characters form the 21st century is plain moronic. And Gone With The Wind have 4 lead performances, Scarlet, Rhett, Ashley and Melanie. I don't expect the CHARACTERS to have the same sensibilities, but a film which glorifies a time and place built upon slavery certainly is jarring to modern sensibilities. It didn't jar me at all. Not the slavery. But other things did. Slavery exists today in parts of the world.

7/10. Loved the book. Ashley was badly miscast.

It sure was an experience to watch on a big screen once.

Is it just me, or does the music score during the famous "Injured soldiers/Confederate flag" shot sound like a slowed-down version of OH, CHRISTMAS TREE?
