Rocky III (1982) - 8/10
I love every moment of this corny and pulpy boxing movie on steroids. I'm a sucker for the Rocky franchise as a whole actually.

Inception 10/10. Don't @ me. Yes, there are a couple flaws but what this film means to me makes it impossible to rate it any lower. So many find Mr. Nolan overrated but I think Christopher Nolan gets hailed and praised by so many because he acts as a gateway/bridge for many individuals going from casual movie goer to cinephile. Now that I think about it, I believe this was one of the films, if not the film, that launched 11 year old me into a movie craze. It was thrilling then and I'm so happy to say that it held up rewatching it today (it had been a couple years since I seen it and was a tad concerned it wouldn't live up).

Still one of my favorite movies and my favorite Nolan movie (maybe until I rewatch his filmography). I agree with what you said, Nolan definitely acts as a bridge between the casual & cinephile audience. Inception (and years later Interstellar as well) are two of the movies that really got me into watching movies.

They can’t get enough. I’m trying to rewatch his entire filmography and I wonder how my perception for each one will change because it’s been around 2 years since I’ve seen them, except Dunkirk and maybe TDK. I was rewatching scenes of Interstellar on YouTube and I really wish I caught in theaters for the spectacle alone.

Besides my brother I'm kind of alone with my love for movies in my family. I'll probably also rewatch his filmography soon, because besides TDK & Dunkirk I haven't seen his other movies in a while. Not to rub it in, but Interstellar was quite something in theaters. The docking scene remains one of the most goosebumps-inducing moments I've ever seen on the big screen.

The docking scene gave me goosebumps while watching it on my Phone lol. Can’t even imagine what it must’ve been like in cinemas. Maybe they’ll rerelease it in 20 years or so.

Gattaca A+ ...my #39 all time.
It's interesting to watch modern sci-fi films over the years become nearer to actual reality instead of their initial intent of fantastic reality lane changes. To that point, I was noticing what realities are not present in Gattaca. CCTV is non existent, probably because wasn't thought of for Gattaca's source material, then again with everyone being scanned & tested 24/7 perhaps cameras would be obsolete. Cameras likely would've caught the murderer if not dissuaded them in the first place. I do love the retro vibe & aesthetics of the Gattaca universe, all the way to the gumshoe style police. Maybe cameras would've compromised that vision no pun intended.

For me last night was this film - Sex and the City (2008) which I gave a rating of - 9 out of 10 ( it's also a good film to take the edge off in between all the horror flicks for me here too ) . IMPO - This is a memorable , fun , a bit of drama , and comedic adult type film ( meaning not a film for children of course ) that never has a dull moment within it either . Thanks twothousandonemark for your subject post .
