Frightmare (1981)
Or 1983? Not sure, but seems to also go under a couple of other alternative titles as well. Might have something to do with a former british release, also named Frightmare. Anyway, the 80s version does have a few familiar and not too far off becoming sure more well known within the world of 80s horror, such as Jeffrey Combs.
Sadly, the film kind of drops off, after a promising opening, and ended up with a mediocre:

The Long Good Friday (1980)
Not seen it for many years now, and 9/10 from back then, but finally picked it up and upgraded from my old DVD copy, towards the 2014 Arrow Video Blu-ray release. And that was just about time, as the picture and sound surely did this british masterpiece of a movie, well justice.
Might just be one of the best gangster films, and not just british, but of all time.
"The mafia? I've shit 'em!"

Speed Zone! (1989)
Not quite as funny as the last time, but still managed to cheer me up, due to the feel-good tone and lots of familiar faces sure show up, maybe at times a bit too often.
But the main reason is John Candy and his lovely passenger Donna Dixon.

Wow, was it that bad? I could not help notice you posted a DVD image of it, in the latest purchased DVDs or Blu-ray thread, a few days ago. Just going by that image, it looked a bit interesting, but I guess this one is better to just leave alone.

However the movie is excruciatingly slow and nothing much happens. Half of it seems to consist of the guys drinking and throwing up. It's so ultra-low-budget, that it makes the first Mad Max movie look like a huge summer blockbuster in comparison, so perhaps understandable that there's not a lot of action, but even the dramatic part with them falling in love with their girlfriends and breaking up is just really clichèd and doesn't lead anywhere interesting.

Yeah that plot does sure sound rather promising. Sad to hear it did not live up to that at all.

Going Berserk (1983)
Re-watched this at times awful early John Candy "comedy", and thankfully it did not hurt his career too much, as he soon came back much stronger with Splash (1984). But I guess there were not too many other leading men parts, ready for him at that time, and at least he gave it a shot, but the lines, jokes and slapstick attempts, all just fell completely flat, from almost the very first go.
Only for the die hard fans, and even though I do sure love Candy as a comedian and actor, this was at times brutally unfunny, and at least I did not end up double-dipping the same film twice, as I have done that mistake a few times as well, with other "classics".

Wagons East! (1994)
The last movie John Candy did, or at least acted in, since he died during the making. Hard not to keep thinking of that during the film, as well as how much of his scenes where re-shot or done by a stunt-double. Even though it comes with a terrible "legacy", I just cannot bring myself to hate it, as this managed to bring with it some smiles and was never either boring or truly awful.

It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie (2002)
Not a very good Muppet movie, and surely not even close to be a "good" Christmas film either. Too many random and unlikeable cameos appear, and the jokes and songs also feels rather lifeless. The film do hit back much later, but too late to undo all the boring stuff that had happened earlier.
Only for those die hard Muppet fans, who must see everything of the franchise.

The Black Rose (1950). 6/10. Repeat sit. Better than I remember but still kind of clunky in parts. Orson Welles is the highlight as a Mongol general.
