Vintage Andy Reid performance yesterday! The strip sack of Mariota called "forward progress" was a joke. It's one thing if the QB is actually trying to run. But there have been probably 100 fumbles on sacks from the front that have never been whistled dead by forward progress. That was likely game over. Every damn break and call went to Tennessee. Indeed. There were other bad calls too. Horrible officiating. Mike Pereira was livid. Given the 1-point difference, the refs did influence the final result. The Chiefs got robbed. A shame. New England says thanks, will face the Titans instead.

Maybe it was the refs' fault the Chiefs didn't score a point in the second half. Maybe it was their fault the last time an Andy Reid coached team gave up an eighteen point lead in a playoff game (it's happened twice now). Maybe it was their fault his entire career has been filled post-season failure. Or maybe he's just not a good playoff coach.

Curious to see who Vikes fans want as their opponent next week - Saints or Panthers.
Either way - I think they're toast setting up for a Eagles vs. Saints/Panthers NFC Title Game.
Sorry Mars......
I'd probably be rooting for the Panthers if I was you - but who knows - Cam has been there before and can be rather bipolar as a QB - can see him going in there and walking out with a win too.

Mars and I both agree we want the Panthers. Our loss to them earlier this year was pretty weird. Seemed more like an off day for the Vikes than the Panthers actually being that much better than us. Only game this year the Vikes players dropped balls like crazy.I don't think the Panthers will win today, but like you, although it is more remote in terms of future opponents, I want the Panthers too, because they are definitely not as good as the Saints. So, I'm rooting for an upset of the lucky kind, maybe with some refereeing mistakes going their way, so that they survive. But then in the possibility of a Panters/Vikings game I'd be rooting for the Panthers for the same reason; I'd rather face the Panthers than the Vikings, if it comes to that (we need to beat the Eagles first, of course, but frankly I think we'll do it relatively easily). So if we take care of business as I expect, our adversary will be either the Panthers, the Saints, or the Vikings, and among these three, I much prefer the Panthers. It is true, though, that Cam Newton is irregular and when he is on fire it is hard to stop him. So we can never entirely dismiss the Panthers. But I think it won't come to that. They will probably lose today, especially after the news that five of their players are out sick with a contagious illness that is spreading among their players. Now if it's Saints at Vikings, I'm really not sure. Which winner would be better for the Falcons? They are both tough. We are more familiar with the Saints, though. I think I'd root for the Saints. Not to forget, with one game separating the Vikings from the dream of playing a home-field Super Bowl, you guys will be on fire.

titans and falcons in 2 shocking upsets that being said i'm rooting for the chiefs and rams I just noticed that no-one gave this guy credit for these calls. Someone was in the thread trying to claim they were the only one to pick Tennessee and Atlanta but they somehow missed the first damn reply in the thread which did exactly that. I was only going by the votes in the poll. I don't normally even bother to read the posts on poll threads. So, I guess my question would be: Who would visit a poll thread, and then not even bother to vote in the poll?

The purpose of these threads isn’t to vote on polls, it’s to discuss the games, I just put the poll so I can see what people are thinking about the upcoming games, but people don’t have to vote and that isn’t the point of the thread, it’s for discussing the games.

And the threads are meant to get more action once the polls close and the game is underway. The poll is just an added bonus to the game play by play threads.

Poll threads are for polling. I suggest from now on you create discussion threads only.

Plus I'm typically told my correspondence in these threads aren't welcome

That leaves Minnesota vs the winner of NO/Carolina. Tasty. Now paradoxically I will need to root for Carolina because: 1. They beat the Vikings already, might be able to knock down the dangerous Vikings 2. If they beat NO and the Vikings and, as I expect, we beat Philly, then I feel a lot better about the NFC championship game being in Charlotte rather than in New Orleans or Minneapolis. So, pinching my nose, tomorrow I'll say Go Panthers! But in any case, things look good for my Falcons, because likely we'll get to the NFC championship game sort of whole (as a matter of fact today's win against the Rams was ultimately relatively easy, and I expect that it will be easier against Philadelphia) while either the Saints or the Panthers will survive after a bruising battle, then that winner and the Vikings will have another bruising battle. Easier? Jesus I cannot wait until the Falcons get murdered on Saturday. In what way are the Falcons better than the Eagles at all?

Peter King MMQB with a nice tidbit:
Factoid That May Interest Only Me The Rams signed free-agent linebacker Kasim Edebali on Dec. 20. The Rams played at Tennessee on Dec. 24. Edebali was inactive against the Titans, but Los Angeles won the NFC West title that day. Edebali, like all his teammates, got an NFC West championship cap in the locker room after the game. The Rams cut Edebali on Dec. 27. The Saints signed Edebali on Dec. 28. The Saints played at Tampa Bay on Dec. 31. Edebali was inactive against the Bucs, but New Orleans won the NFC South title that day. Edebali, like all his teammates, got an NFC South championship cap in the locker room after the game. Eight days, zero snaps, two hats.
Edebali may be the first & only NFL player to 'win' 2 division titles in 1 season.
