Wrinkle in Time looks like the flop winner so far. I think audiences are beginning to tire of 'revisionist' tamperings of favorites from their childhoods. There was no particularly good reason to do so with this story, and nothing in the attempt persuaded you that there might be some dimension added to the story by ethnicizing many of the chief characters. Not surprising it crashed and burned at the box office.

If someone wants to watch Robin Hood, watch Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves - 91'. That film hit all the right spots. A great cast, wonderfully executed with some strong violence for a PG13 and the romance aspect wasn't overly mushy. It was on last week. It’s aged quite well. The fight scenes remain exciting and the sets look great. Alan Rickman’s Sheriff is still one of the greatest movie villains ever and I’m not sure how much he’s even remembered for this post-Harry Potter.
