No-sa! Absolutely not! Lucas never intended those fluffy Porg-fests to be canon. Thems were just TV marketing ploys for da hotness of Star Wars at da time.

No, it's not canon because Disney shot it out of their canon-cannon a long time ago into a galaxy far far away from the Star Wars galaxy.
The IP holder/owner defines canonicity. The new canon does not include this special piece. I think even before that it was the same, as Lucas was deeply embarrassed about it and had all copies disappear.
You can still make it your personal head canon if you really wish so.
