tom, do you remember ricardo mayorga.... mayorga was a talented arrogant loudmouth and fought some names from that era- vernon forrest, trinidad, de la hoya, vargas, mosely, cotto, medina.... since you brought up 'Sugar' Shane - one of my favorite Mosely memories - is Shane dropping Mayorga while he was 'mocking' him. great theater sugar shane vs. margarito (he cut up cotto by putting cement in his gloves) - please don't tell me haters that Mosely was just a 'boring defensive boxer':

since you brought Lewis up - I'm going to talk about a boxer from that era that people rarely talk about - his fight against David Tua. Tua went the distance with him - all 12. I always wanted to see Tua vs. Mike Tyson - bulldog vs. bulldog. what a beast Tua was great theater (like Tyson) - you've got to love some of these ham & eggers he's destroying in this clip though

Bert Cooper Vs. Evander Holyfield.
Cooper was a tough journeyman from the near suburbs in Philly (Sharon Hill).
Put up a great showing like a Warrior in this fight when nobody gave him a chance:

meh. why the hell not. lesser known fight(fighter again) vs. Tommy Hearns you mentioned. granted Virgil Hill is in the boxing Hall of Fame - to me he was a tad overrated and seemed to fight in his home town a lot. an Aging 'Hitman' gave Hill his first loss - in turn Hill lost his belt to Hearns (can't recall what weight class it was at the time):
