There have been several relatively recent films about cooks and cooking and food in general. Julie and Julia (2009)Chef (2014)Ratatouille (2007)and subsequent thoughts of films that feature what is done with food a la Animal House Tom Jones and just what is being eaten Fried Green Tomatoes Soylent Green
Any "classics" "neo-classics" "clunkers" that seem to fit the bill of fare ? Essays, images, related chitchat ... whatever works.
What brought all this on ? It has a really ear-wormy tune .. you been warned ! Depending on your take on the thread, you can thank or blame NJtoTX for posting the video on the food board and getting the train of thought in motion. thanks tx

Chocolat is such a good film.
Watched it with a friend who does not normally like "pictures like this" and it was loved x2.
One of Depp's best, imo, and Judi Dench and Leslie Caron and Alfred Molina and Juliette Binoche and .. heck ALL of the cast. A++++
edit to add ....LIBERTY .... ditto rating !

Burnt (2015) 4/10 for the plot. 7/10 for the food.

Michael Caine making breakfast for Sigourney Weaver in Half Moon Street 1986, not neithers best efforts as the movie goes. The movie itself is a rather sleazy bleak thriller that some stars do between their better movies just to keep going.

Reminds me of another Sigourney Weaver kitchen moment, when some unplanned cooking took place:

All of the cooking and eating scenes in Like Water For Chocolate run the gamut of emotions from joy to grief to lust and then some!
