It's getting a lot of love from the awards shows thus far.

I saw Three Billboards this week, and it does NOT deserve Best Picture. Ridiculously overrated film. The only standout is Sam Rockwell's performance. I'm afraid this will be yet another "split year" where one film wins Best Picture while another film wins Best Director. And the way it's going so far, it seems Three Billboards will win BP while del Toro will win BD for The Shape of Water.

I'm surprised Lady Bird isn't more of a front runner. I'd say Shape of Water has a 50/50 shot with Three Billboards.
I'll still treat it as the wildcard at this rate but I'm surprised CALL ME BY YOUR NAME isn't gaining much traction. Perhaps because Moonlight beat it to the punch?

I'd really be thrilled if Shape of Water, Ladybird or Get Out won, but it's looking like it's Three Billboards to lose. I really liked the movie while and immediately after seeing it but it has not stuck with me one bit.

It can but the lack of SAG Ensemble nod really hurts. Even La La Land couldn't overcome it last year. Three Billboards or Lady Bird are still the safest bets. movie-awards-redux.freeforums.net/

That would be swell, not sure it would win, sea monsters in love rarely get much Oscar attention.
