But then, Spacey has had a lot more accusers (thus far). Neil DeGrasse Tyson, on the other hand, seems to have chosen to not say anything at all publicly in response to an accusation of rape (dating back to the early 1980s). So far, he seems to have escaped the kind of career-ending forced resignation/firing that so many other media figures have experienced in the past 3-4 months. Maybe with just a single accusation, and no other rumors of misconduct, keeping mum makes it easier to survive an accusation of misconduct.

I would suggest though his teaching gigs are well over.

I don’t really see what the issue is here.
Has nobody ever surprisingly jumped in the shower with their partner or randomly grabbed their dick or tit? Doesn’t this type of sexual affection happen all the time in a relationship? I don’t want to be the type of person that brushes off these types of allegations...and I’m not even a fan of Franco...but this story sounds pretty weak.

I don't think his career will be over with (or at least I hope not). He's the only member of the Apatow crew that I can actually stand . Franco does come across as a perv / creep but I think this will all blow over and he'll still get decent roles.

I’d even say that if in this case she said No and he continued to push her head toward his junk and held her down...ok now I agree. But based on the op I can’t say that happened. It just sounds like he asked his girlfriend for a bj. The 17 yr old stuff is even too vague for me to care about. If there’s more to that story I’d like to hear it. Otherwise like I says...this all feels very weak.

She was divorced and had a daughter who was like 6 or 7. I did not feel exploited at all, and looking back on it, still don't feel that I was exploited. It was a mutually consensual relationship, and even though she outranked me at work, if anything I had been pursuing her. Is there that big a difference between 17 and 19? |

I thought his career was over after the Sony hack 3 years ago, when lots of film industry executives' and insiders personal details got posted on the internet. Theatres intially said they wouldn't show the movie, The Interview, out of fear of being targeted in retribution or of terrorists attacks. I wondered how anyone in Hollywood would be willing to bankroll any project Seth Rogen or James Franco were attached to after that. I was totally wrong. |
