What about the stand alones? ha ha - yes, I did think about them but I'd probably still be writing the combinations out now if I'd included them! Plus I just thought it'd be interesting to see the results just in terms of the main Saga trilogies...

OT = Original Trilogy, PT = Prequel Trilogy, and ST = Star Trek? ST must mean Sequel Trilogy. If so, my answer is: Love OT Tolerate PT Hate ST.

When I had to vote on this, I had to come to terms with my ever-evolving perspective on SW.
I've always loved the OT and that has never changed.
When I first watched the PT in theaters, I hated TPM and AOTC and thought ROTS was a mishmash of greatness and failure. Many years later, I tolerate TPM (due to its many positive moments), I like AOTC and I absolutely love ROTS. Overall, I love the PT now.
When I first viewed TFA for the first 40 times, I loved it. I believed it was a given that TLJ and Ep. IX would pay it off. I mean, why you would you ever make a movie chock-full of interesting plot mysteries with no intention of resolving them in interesting ways? Why would a huge property ever allow something like this? So I thought there was no chance in the world there weren't good answers to these questions. And then the mess that was TLJ happened, retroactively destroying TFA in retrospect and proving my belief was naive. As a whole, the ST is extremely disappointing. Is there a chance for retribution like how ROTS, in time, helped save the PT in my head? Yes, but it's slim. It's ALL about the story for me. So far the ST's story as a whole is garbage, and unless Ep. IX can acrobatically evolve the story as a whole, then the ST will remain garbage.

I hope no Star Wars fan hates Star Trek anymore, those times are over. I guess I had a mental block because when I first read "ST", I could only think of "Star Trek". If the OP had used "DT" for Disney Trilogy, I would have caught on right away.

For me Star Wars is the rise and the fall of the Empire and the Sith, respectively of the Republic and the Jedi. Thus, essentially what Lucas did, including TCW show.
With the Sequels I am not sure what story or added artistic value they are meant to bring to the Sage (besides tons of money and repetition). Last Jedi was ok IMO, but I consider the ST Disney-fanfiction/non-canon so far, yet might re-canonize them if Ep IX is convincing enough.
All the other Disney stuff like R1 or Rebels I like so far and is good supplemental material for fans.

All the other Disney stuff like R1 or Rebels I like so far and is good supplemental material for fans. I love the ST for the same reason I loved the EU. New stories new characters, new threats, the remnant of the empire like the thrawn trilogy but in movie form and altered so we don't get the same stories even though it borrows heavily. Would I prefer the EU adapted? I think not, those were good stories (most, not all) but it would be like the adaptation of a book, the book is the template, whereas in SW the movies were always the template not the other way around. I think that was the main reasoning for portraying Luke like they did, we already had a god like Jedi in the EU. Also by the time of legacy (comics) everything was so different it kind of felt what came before didn't matter anyway. 100 years in the future and it was all screwd up. Empire knights, sith on the rise again... The next trilogy will have a yuzaan vong inspired threat? I think so... What I would like to see is the old republic era stories, but I guess they would have to be altered not to be the same and that would piss the fans, and if it was the same it would piss the fans (no originality). Either way they are going to piss some of the fans no matter what they do. It began in 1999 and the story is repeating itself. I'm happy having new stories to discover in movie format but to each it's own I guess.

I loved the PT since the beginning, jar jar and all. Maybe if guys like you had more appreciation for what was being done at the time Lucas wouldn't have to sell and kept making movies, but alas they "flopped" and now you are stuck with Disney. This is almost poetic.

So far the ST's story as a whole is garbage, and unless Ep. IX can acrobatically evolve the story as a whole, then the ST will remain garbage. I know what you mean but it's funny because from a certain point of view I'd say that TLJ destroyed the ST, yes, but actually made me appreciate TFA more. Yeah we know now (as a lot of people always suspected) that JJ's mystery boxes were just that but if they had been "opened" satisfactorily in TLJ, TFA would have still stood up to a degree - aesthetically it was great, if still a ANH rehash to a certain degree... ROTS was also my favorite prequel (although AOTC perhaps closing in now as I view all the prequels as more comedy-sci-fi which works for me) but also left me tinged with a "what might of been" sadness, probably mostly due to the "lava" Anakin / Obi-Wan showdown. As a young kid growing up with the OT that volcano fight was well discussed (prob around ESB time) and was almost a mythical thing we all discussed at that time. It was odd to finally see it on screen following the blunders of the previous films...

I suppose I would fall into the Love OT, Tolerate PT, and Tolerate ST group. Although I think it would be more accurate to say i like the later two.
For the record, here is how I score the films
Original Trilogy A New Hope 10/10 The Empire Strikes Back - 10/10 Return of the Jedi - 9/10
Prequel Trilogy The Phantom Menace - 6/10 Attack of the Clones - 5/10 Revenge of the Sith - 9/10
Sequel Trilogy The Force Awakens - 7/10 Rogue One - 7/10 The Last Jedi - 6/10
