Yesterday I watched a beautiful George Stevens film, Penny Serenade, which I hadn't seen in so long that it almost felt like I was seeing it for the first time. It's a wonderful experience to be able to hold your breath on a classic film you've already seen and wonder what's going to happen. Anyway, thanks again for sharing, and continue to enjoy the "new" viewing pleasure you are so lucky to have at this point in your life.

Spider--

This is a hard film not to love, isn't it. I always remember it when I think of George Stevens as one of my favorite directors.
Whenever, I think of the movie one actor always comes to mind--Edgar Buchanan as Applejack. He is so cute and lovable in this movie.
When you think of it, George Stevens used Edgar Buchanan in three of his movies and they all worked well:
Shane (1953)
Penny Serenade (1941) ---where sort of dominates parts of the movie.
Talk of the Town (1942)

Yes, since I'm Swedish it wasn't any trouble, thank to that they didn't speak in dielects.
