At first this sounds a joke, yet it is a legitimate query.
I've seen 'History of the world/'x'/etc' in 100 items' books. I guess someone could publish 'History of history books in 100 books'?

Yes, just from reading old history books (especially 19th century books) compared to nowadays the emphasis switched from Kings and Civilizations from the top pecking order to the 20th century when more personal and social histories started becoming en vogue.

I also notice that product history has become more popular in the last few decades (though not completely new. For example, I've seen a 1941 feature film Always Tomorrow: The Portrait of an American Business, a drama about the history of Coca-Cola).

I picked up a BA and MA in History and considered getting my Ph.D but decided on going to law school instead. I guess one day I can go back but it'll be after I retire...

Oh that brings back pleasant memories. Were you a historian in a former life? I picked up a BA and MA in History and considered getting my Ph.D but decided on going to law school instead. I guess one day I can go back but it'll be after I retire... Got my BA and went into teaching for a couple years then been working at museums since; Let's consider my MA work in progress. Congrats on getting yours, it's always a bitch. The questions kids ask these days on field trips is making me reconsider a return to teaching though.
