How am I yelling at you? I'm in NYC and you are somewhere in NZ.
Trust me, never put the words fantasies, me and you in the same sentence. It is not a misinterpretation. Then you should be more sensitive regarding other poster's religion.
Subject closed and move on kid.
Move on??? You jumped on a thread to bleat your ridiculous fantasies to me, try growing up you idiot.

Your quote should be self evident, as I am a Roman Catholic. You know very well that Catholics do not engage in idolatry. Eating fish or fasting on Friday, although outdated is just a healthy discipline.
The fasting not eating meat isn't even church law. It's nothing more than tradition. I should have said it wasn't law based on scripture.

Thank you. I do not have training in Sacred Theology. Although sometimes it would be useful.

I don't think the concept of 'bogus' in meaning fake or invented, is the whole story at all with religion. It is very real and IMHO was invented as an elaborate form of controlling the population. They invented a 'deity' and fear of that deity made the population obey laws and tenets allegedly pertaining to that 'religion' even though it was a lie that the laws came direct from that deity through one of two methods.
1. From the book (bible)
2. From the hierarchy of priests who made up the 'laws' to both control the population and enrich themselves and their 'religious institution'.
it was a clever ruse perpetuated on society for millennia, and now, after the various revolutions of modern thought, is outdated since a rise of secular and political entities of 'crowd control'.

What aspect of the metaphysical and connection with God are you wanting to apply or connect with though k? It sounds like you are still searching. Not sure how to answer except feel a deeper connection with God in my day to day life. I will ask then, what is God?

Who's sin, yours or mine? It doesn't matter. the only thing that matters is whether you accept another's view of the sin, unless it's breaking the law (Legality is merely secular sin), unless sin is law since it's a concept and can't be taken away. Guilt, however, is not really a concept. It is what is felt and people can feel it/no feel it without regard to sin. The notion of sin simply outlines whether that is right or wrong in the context of the religious tenets people choose to accept which is why the OP's view of it is completely irrelevant. It does matter, because what you refer to as sin, is just your own interpretation of your own moral and ethical code. Even though we are all ultimately connected, my journey is not yours and yours is not mine. You are not and I am not you. Sin is just a throwaway term to describe bad behavior, based on someone or something—like scripture—else's projection. All there is is action and consequence and it has nothing to do with religion. That is the universal code or even law.

Toasted CheeseRight, it doesn;t have anything to do with you or the OP, so neither of you have the ability or right to dictate to me that it doesn't exist. It'sa pointless thing to argue about. Well, it's not throwaway since people adhere to it. This is incorrect. There is no civilization on the planet that is living only by universal code. We follow rules that are codified and enforced. While the list for sin is far smaller than any given justice system's rule of law, both are things implemented to control behavior within a certain societal structure. Both are standards. Granted the religious one is the higher one, but it's also the one that is voluntary.

Granted the religious one is the higher one, but it's also the one that is voluntary. This is an open chat discussion thread, I have the right to inform you or dictate my opinion on any subject. Who adheres to it, you? Are you now dictating what others should be doing, or what you want them to do? Most religions and laws do this. People still break rules. Some rules may be reasonable, some may be bulls<>t, but sin is a still a throwaway term, because it is just a label\tag created by the mind of man that DOES NOT EXIST. And don't tell me it does, just because the bible says so. You have missed the point. I am not talking about man made rules based on scripture or law, but the rules of the universe overall. It is all action and consequence. That is how the universe operates and this does dictate to our lives. And while consequence could be a result of a written law in what we perceive as human life, it is still nothing but consequence due to action. It is only deemed as sin by religions, which is a delusion.
