I always liked this one okay. It's got some nice atmosphere, really strong effects work for the budget, and solid performances, especially from Irene Miracle and the all too briefly-used William Hickey. I must admit though, the premise has always felt somewhat small-scale and self-contained to me for something that spawned a franchise that's lasted more than thirty years. I mean, if you showed me this one just by itself in a vacuum, I'd be kind of amazed to hear it has 12 sequels. (And having seen most of them, I can tell you the premise runs pretty damned thin real fast. Although, I do love Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge; I'd even say that one surpasses the original for me. III might be my favourite too but it’s a close call between it and the first for me.

Bite your tongue!! I love Jester and he is my favourite out of all the puppets 'cause he is cute and I love all his different facial expressions like how he looks happy, mischievous, sad, angry, surprised and scared in different parts of the movies and I also like how he is the one puppet that doesn't kill unless he really has to which is why he wasn't in the alternate reality based 'The Littlest Reich' movie where the puppets and Toulon were evil. I recently read his look was actually based on one of the creators and here is a video of some of Jester's cutest moments.
Surely you jest. I guess he is kinda cute and has the ability to express himself more than the others, but I feel like for a character like him being called Jester, a name which is the potential to cause mayhem, he could’ve contributed more. Who is your least favourite Puppet Deb? Yes. He is and I can see why you might feel that way about the name and from what I heard the reason why Toulon called him Jester was he was a prankster when he was a human and was always joking around and had a playful nature. We have never actually gotten to see Jester as a human 'cause he died before the events of 'Retro Puppet Master' but if they make a Jester solo movie we might. I don't remember now but did you ever get around to watching 'Retro Puppet Master' 'cause if you didn't it is worth watching since it explains a lot to do with the puppets and shows how Toulon first started bringing them to lives with the souls of his lost friends and also shows Toulon meeting Elsa (his Wife) for the first time who we know goes onto become Leech Woman after she is murdered by the Nazis. I am surprised Toulon never treats Leech Woman differently than the other puppets since she is Elsa and that feels like it gets mixed in the shuffle in the movies. It is still funny knowing Blade is Dr. Hess and I would like to have seen what Pinhead and Torch were like as humans. As for a least favourite puppet I would probably say the one that is getting its own movie next, Doktor Death since we don't really know that much about it and I feel Jester, Leech Woman or Pinhead deserved to have the next solo movie more but I am still going to watch it.

Yes, I saw Retro Puppet Master which was the last one of these I saw in fact. I forgot that Leech Woman was Toulon's wife, and you bring up a good point that Toulon doesn't treat Leech Woman differently or show love to her. I can see why Doktor Death would be your least favourite. I haven't seen any of the movies with him besides Retro so I can't really comment much, but he may also be in the runnings for my least favourite.
