I personally enjoy this franchise. Not the best by a longshot, but they're nice popcorn fun.

Resident Evil: Retribution - 6/10

Will probably not bother to look upon the rest of the series, just not my kind of horror/action entertainment, however Apocalypse was a little "surprise", not great but certainly the best of the three that I have seen so far.

For me these films were like the Lost TV series - each film/season got more and more dissatisfying but I kept watching in the vain hope that it would get better. |

Finished Retribution last night, nothing new to be seen here, and the weakest of the series and I doubt I will spend anymore time or money on them ever again.
A shame they did not re-hire the director of Apocalypse and then brought in some interesting and likeable characters, but I guess it was more important to have Milla look as cool and sexy (no problem with that) all while taking out thousands and thousands of dull and annoying zombies and other silly creatures in one poor sequel after another.

Although those ratings might be out of date. Apocalypse and Extinction are probably more like 6's.
It's an interesting series, in that it stayed consistently decent until the end, but never rose to greatness.

And by popcorn fun I meant that they're nothing life-changing that would motivate you, but rather to just entertain you and have fun with them. I'm afraid you forgot what the term "popcorn entertainment" means. |
