One of the gladiator contests in Rome. Although, maybe not.

2008 Wimbledon Men's Final - Federer-Nadal
Something like that where every seat is a great one, arena setting, crazy tension & drama.
2010 Olympic Hockey Gold medal game maybe... though the 2002 Gold game is close.

Some of the more historic moments. 1980 US Olympic hockey vs. Russia. Bobby Thomson's home run. The day Ripken broke Gehrig's record. The Flyers clinching Stanley Cup game in 1974 vs. the Bruins. Secretariat at the Belmont Stakes. Wilt's 100 point night. Halladay's no hitter in the playoffs. 2008 World Series game 5.

The first World Series and the first Super Bowl. SB I had a huge surplus of tickets that didn't sell so it's not likely that a time traveler would of messed with the timeline by buying an open seat that they couldn't give away.

Thought about USA v USSR in the 80 Olympics and Secretariat in the 73 Belmont. The game in the 1932 WS where Babe Ruth called the HR, just to see if he did it. Dr Naismith first peach basket basketball game. But I’ll go with the 1870 baseball game between Cincinnati Red Stockings and the. Brooklyn Atlantics. Cincy was the first completely pro team and was undefeated for 1869-70 until Brooklyn beat them in extra innings. To see how the game was played in 1870 and see how the crowd reacted and to know how the game evolved would be cool

Don Larsen's perfect game against the Dodgers in the '56 WS.
Here's the final out called by Vin Scully.

I would love to travel back in time to a viking sports event, like Caber toss.

1966 World Cup final... In a position where I could see beyond doubt whether that was actually a goal, or not⚽
I wouldn't tell anyone else when I got back though. Just keep it to myself.

Despite what was to come, the Pack was supposed to crush KC in what was only unofficially called the Super Bowl and they did. People considered the Packers 34-27 win over Dallas to be the real championship, and the game vs the AFL champ to be a virtual exhibition, although with a lot of intrigue and animosity between the leagues.

My choice would also be something along those lines: a 19th century soccer game in England, or possibly the first World Cup in Uruguay in 1930. *** EDIT *** Come to think of it, as a history buff I would like to attend one of the Olympic Games from antiquity.

I would love to travel back in time to a viking sports event, like Caber toss. It's a Scottish sport, you can see that now at any highland games.
