If true, Disney is spending too much on their films.

$300 million is a figure I see pop up a lot and it's never true. Disney isn't stupid, I doubt they threw that kind of money at this.
Now, on the off chance they did put that kind of money into it I doubt they'd see it come back even with Emma Watson in it.

Seems like most Disney movies cost $150-$175 million. I don't see how they would justify $300 million. Even if it is that high, they still make money on this after all theater tickets are sold, then they get to sell millions of Blu-rays and DVDs and mp3 files on top of it.

It doesn't look like a film that could eat up a budget of $300 million, Emma Watson got this role? (is very confused by this )
This is the one movie I am most curious about, it's weekend figure, and it has total dominance over next weeks releases to booster it then it might tank.
Sometimes the advertising budget is included in the total costs. They did that to Star Wars TFA to hype it's cost to make it look more impressive to the audience who seem to be impressed with a large figure attached to a movie.

Way too much to spend on something that won't be as good as the original.
