Haven't heard too much about it, Nuts. I'll try to ask at a local seafood department I frequent. They might have some insight. I'll let you know.

I've had it twice, this season, in the Bay Area ... once, "cracked," at home, and once in a restaurant that usually makes wonderful "crab Louie" salads. It was very disappointing, both times. The meat isn't very fleshy, and is sub-par on flavor. Around Thanksgiving, they weren't readily in the markets, and the fishermen try to make it as available as possible, at that time. I may try it again in a couple of weeks, depending on availability. So sad, as it's my favorite food.

nutsberryfarm 🏜, divtal: I stopped by one of my grocery stores today and talked to a guy at the crab counter who told me the talks are still ongoing. In the meantime they are able to get Dungeness Crab from Alaska and northern Canadian waters. They had some nice big ones on display. He said the Alaskan crabs are bigger, while the local Washington ones, though smaller, are more preferred by some people because they have a "sweeter" taste. He doesn't know when the crabbers and the processors will reach a deal.

divtal: I think just one of his claws would be enough to keep you in crab meat for about a year. lol

nutsberryfarm 🏜, divtal: thought I'd re-post this sauce recipe which I think I might've posted on the old IMDb F&D board some while back. It's excellent on fresh crab meat:

We, still, haven't seen a "boom," in our crab selection (with only about 3 months to go). If things improve, and they're stocked, again, I'll try it. I haven't given up all hope. Two years ago, the season got going at about this time of year. There's, usually, a good harvest in late November.
