Hardly surprising. Ragnarok is a good movie and JL was one of the worst movies of the year. JL is a good movie. For people to poop on.

Justice League wasn't that bad. I got what I expected. An entertaining action flick. I liked it too but it still underperformed. I mean there was a brief period where a new Transformers movie automatically meant a billion dollar hit in the making. The first Justice League movie ever by that logic should have made at least Age of Ultron money.

My guess (since everything is precarious atm) is they're gonna treat Phase 1 as a trial run. Reset more or less with Aquaman; Shazam! and Wonder Woman 2 for what appears to be a Legion of Doom arc instead of the New Gods until the dust settles. Indeed it's not refined but it'd dial things back until someone whether Hamada or Johns or DC-Fan plots a better course.

Well, I guess that's better than going under after just one movie like Universal's Dark Universe.

It wasnt like The MCU movies were much better in 2017 They all did pretty good critically and made a lot of money, by comparison to Justice League they *did* do much better.

I thought it was good fun, it wasn't great but it was entertaining. It was probably the weakest Superhero movie this year though.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 probably be the closest.

There’s no way the movie cost $400 million. It cost at least $450 million when you include the marketing costs. Are you back? Good to see you.

GotG vol. 2 is a very good film dealing with all kinds of interhuman relationships. Its close to being brilliant. Justice League was very empty and shallow compared to that.

It wasnt like The MCU movies were much better in 2017 They were, considerably. They just didn't think showering blood and gore at the audience was the only way to go.

JL was a disappointment. The big historic highlights this year were WW and Logan, no doubt. I hope both go one winning many further awards.
The rest of the CBMs including JL was just - albeit enjoyable - mindless commercial fluff, instantly forgettable.
But if they continue to make Logan and WW-like movies, CMBs might lose the image of being mere junk food for mindless manchildren. That would be a giant leap in the right direction.

The DCEU is on its 2nd attempt. Green Lantern was the 1st attempt.

The mcu movies in 2017 were all average. though average is still a masterpiece compared to commercial and artistic MCU flops like Ironfist, Defenders or that X_Men knock off on the Moon show, the latter being one of the most comically abysmal shows ever. Punisher was mediocre and too long but not bad per se.

My only problem was there was not as much action as there should of been you could be right with that. I mean as a grown up I have a hard time to get interested in the taste of Raccoon Turd Vol 2, or a re-reboot of Spiderboy & friends, and don't get me started that rainbow-colored Fraggle Rock business, it just did not rock.
The Punisher had at least some R-rated balls and kind of interesting characters and villains. The lead went from damaged über-psycho to Mr Nice Guy too quickly IMO, and I though that rasberry voice sucked with time. If they had done it in below 10 episodes and did a bit more action (including some Kat Dennings) it would have been neater.

I ll admit there is stuff I would of done differently with the Punisher, buts it was still the best thing that Marvel made in the year. Kat would of been a plus😍😍😍😍
