Jessica might have a slight edge for me, although I'm not sure it's not primarily because she has the bigger discography. If artists are just about tied for me, I'll usually prefer the one with a bigger output.
At any rate, I actually like both quite a bit. I wish both would have continued their recording careers. Ashlee only did three albums, the last in 2008, and Jessica only did five excluding the two Christmas albums, with the last also in 2008.
Supposedly Jessica has a new album due out this year, so that's a good sign. I hate that we're in an era where artists are so sporadic, though.

Ashlee was good on the 7th Heaven show, but I never cared for her singing if you can even call what came from her singing. The only songs that I care for from Jessica are "Come On Over" and "Pray Out Loud".

Not a huge fan of either of them, but to me Jessica was the better singer when she didn't do that annoying hiccup-sounding/"I'm this close to crapping myself" face combo. I liked some of Ashlee's songs.

Thought so, though I don't mind some commercial pop, Spice Girls, Britney, Kylie, Lady Gaga. As long as it's more rooted in a traditional pop style. I'm not a fan of the more urban/R'n'B infused side of contemporary pop. |

Music wise, I'd say they are both about 3 or 4 out of 10.
Jessica is more conventionally good looking, but Ashlee is sexier, if you know what I mean.
