Let's not include CGI costumes or costumes heavily enhanced by CGI.
So that said, which X-men character has the best costume? Ideally, the best costume is the one that can blend a bunch of different criteria together like:
*quality of construction
*creativeness of design
*practicality of costume
*faithfulness to source material
*wow factor
*attention to detail
*and a bunch of others

In terms of costume alone Im tempted to say Apocalypse. The armour he had on was very detailed and resembled very much like the comics. Too bad his face paint wasnt the same quality.
Magneto at the end of First Class was also very neat but disappointingly it wasnt used in the next film.

Beast in Last Stand. None of the new films have been able to top it yet with the makeup

Deadpool (2016). Singer's FOX-Men costumes were AWFUL!!! The next best are the First Class uniforms. The only cringe worthy thing about them is that they had to explain why they are wearing them.

No one comes close to Psylocke imo.

No one comes close to Psylocke imo. Hers would be good, but I think she doesn't have the body type to pull it off. They had to change it to fit her. There are some shots where she looks uncomfortable. That slouch, though.

And it's very easy to find shots of actors not looking comfortable in their costumes.

I think they have a bunch of concept art for the characters' costumes and Singer is choosing the worst ones. Or they have really crappy concept artists.

Again, it's hard to decide. Mystique would be a solid contender for the answer, but can you really call it a costume? I don't see how paint all over yourself can be classified as a costume. That being said, I would have to go with Deadpool. So vibrant in colour, totally comic book-like and of course most accurate to the original design. The black suits in the OT were not bad, but felt rather lazy in execution. I prefer the yellow and blue getup.

I've always enjoyed the various incarnations of Magneto. Honorable mention to the First Class uniforms and pretty much everyone in Days of Future Past. formersamhmd, what say you? I know that the costume design is one of your favorite features of the XCU.
