Yeah. It was originally supposed to go longer from what I read and if it had been more successful I think the creators were looking at making it into a 5 or 6 season show 'cause I remember them saying they had a lot of plans for it they weren't able to go through with after it was cancelled and Melissa George was saying in interviews she was trying to get it picked up by another channel 'cause she liked the show so much and didn't want it to end. Melissa George was in Season 3 of 'Alias' and she played Vaughn's new Wife after Sydney disappeared for a long time and people thought she was dead and she worked at the CIA with Vaughn and her Father was a senator but it turned out she was a criminal and was working for The Covenant. I don't know if you have seen 'Triangle' but that is one of my fav movie roles of hers and is worth checking out if you haven't seen it. I have seen a number of Radha Mitchell's movies and shows too and I liked 'Silent Hill' and her show, 'Red Widow' and was disappointed it was cancelled.
I do like the time-warp thriller ‘Triangle’. A nicely put together puzzle. George gave it her all, especially with what her character goes through and that shock ending. That’s the first I’ve heard of ‘Red Widow’. Looks like something I might dig. I see it only got a couple episodes. Both of them were in quite a few solid horror films throughout the 2000s. I agree. It was a great movie and Melissa George did a good job playing the leading role and the movie ended very differently than I expected it to. I have watched it multiple times on DVD and I would go as far to say 'Triangle' was one of the most underrated Horror movies of the 00s along with 'Drag Me to Hell' and 'Trick R Treat' which I also enjoyed but not many people talk about now. I don't know if you have seen 'Trick R Treat' but the creator has said they are still working on a sequel and he is going to finish it off when he has finished working on the projects he is on now and I am looking forward to seeing it. 'Red Widow' aired here on Channel 7 back in 2013 and it sadly didn't go very long but it is worth checking out and I will post the trailer for it below. Did you see Melissa in the adaption of Stephen King's 'Bag of Bones' with Pierce Bronson?

Season 4 of Buffy and season 1 of Angel. After this rewatch I'll watch some show that I haven't seen yet. Lots of people have recommended Game of Thrones to me, but I'll probably buy Supernatural instead. If you are a Horror fan like I think you are definitely better watching 'Supernatural' over 'Game of Thrones.' 'Game of Thrones' isn't really a Horror TV show where 'Supernatural' is and it has the main characters fight a lot of famous Horror monsters from books, folklore and movies throughout the course of the show and they even face Lucifer and evil angels. 'Supernatural' has a lot of seasons too (it has already been renewed for Season 14) so it should last you for a long time if you are looking for something that goes for a while and it isn't as good as it used to be now but I think the first 6 seasons and Season 11 were the best and had a lot of awesome episodes.

Most recently finished watching Season 1 of Star Trek: Discovery on Blu-ray. The main reason I was thinking of checking out this show originally was because Michelle Yeoh was in it...but then I found out her character was killed off early and my interest in the show went with her. However, I then found out there were rumours of a spin-off featuring her character, so I figured they must’ve found some way to bring her back. I ended up giving the show a go (since I got it for a decent price) and I actually ended up quite liking it. This is only the second ST show I've watched (the other being Star Trek: Voyager). The first two episodes (which really felt more like a ‘prologue’ to the actual series – and it would’ve been nice to know that ahead of watching it) were rather 'rough'. I liked Philippa Georgiou pretty quickly and wished she had been the show’s lead. I understand that they were wanting to do something ‘different’ here compared to the other shows where the Captain was always the lead. This time around they weren’t doing that...but the trouble was that Captain Georgiou was much more interesting than the show’s actual lead, Michael Burnham. I didn’t really see a lot of Sonequa Martin-Green in The Walking Dead (as I only watched the first three seasons of that show and have forgotten most of it), but I imagine she must’ve been better in that series than here. I felt her acting was rather ‘off’ – at least in the first half of the season (but especially the first two episodes). I get that her character was raised by a Vulcan on their planet and was supposed to not be showing human emotions as much as other humans, but there were some really awkward acting choices here and there from her which stuck out to me. Having said that, I think she improved in the last half of the season as her character showed more emotions and actually started developing relationships with the other characters (although I was completely bored with her ‘romance’ stuff. That was not at all interesting). While I do think she got better later into the season, other characters hit the mark straight away – such as Saru. Doug Jones is someone probably a lot of people have seen in a lot of different things...but they wouldn’t know it because he’s usually wearing prosthetics. Despite the extensive makeup, he managed to show plenty of emotion and although Saru may have started out seeming like he was a bit of a ‘stick-in-the-mud’, I thought he made a lot of good points and I was usually on his side during most arguments between him and Michael. Sylvia Tilly was another character who I immediately took a liking to. At first she may have seemed like the ‘typical’ type of character who babbles nervously and is super-friendly and whatnot, but I think she quickly showed she had plenty more depth than that and she actually got to drop the first F-bomb in the show (though in the end it felt rather unnecessary, as the word was uttered twice in rapid succession by her and another character...and then we never heard it again, I don’t think. So what exactly was the point of it? Just to show that the word did exist in the ST universe and characters did say it at times? It just felt like it was there for that reason alone and then there was no further use for it). Anyway, Tilly was instantly likeable and pretty awesome too. I especially liked how she could become friends with pretty much everyone. She befriended Michael (who wasn’t overly nice to begin with, but thankfully warmed up to her), she was the first to sit with Ash Tyler after all the crap he’d been through (including the killing of the Dr. Culber) when no one else would – I liked that scene, it showed what a good person Tilly was as others joined her. I especially liked the reveal that Tilly’s hopes of becoming a Captain actually did work out for her (although not quite how she would’ve expected). When she first mentioned to Michael she wanted to be a Captain, I thought that was foreshadowing her carking it before she ever could become one. Thankfully that wasn’t the case...though becoming ‘Captain Killy’ in the mirror universe probably wasn’t what she was hoping for either. I must say, I thought she looked great in the mirror universe getup and with that hair. I kind of wished she'd kept it. Oh well. All the stuff with the crew and Tilly herself finding out about her mirror universe self was great (including the reveal of the different names/titles she had, such as Captain Killy – Saru’s response to that was rather amusing). I also liked the fact that although she was nervous to begin with, she actually handled playing the role of her other self pretty well. A lot of times in these types of storylines, when a character is pretending to be another version of th emself, it's always so obvious that they're not who they're pretending to be that you wonder how the characters they're trying to fool don't quickly catch on (usually it's the fact that it's played for 'comedy' the ends up being the excuse. The good thing with Tilly-as-Killy was that even though it *had* humour, she didn't give herself away/made it obvious to those she was trying to fool that she wasn't in fact who she was pretending to be. Then there was her interaction with mirror universe Georgiou – that was rather good/amusing too. I hope they never ‘ruin’ the character of Tilly, nor kill her off, as I don’t think this show would be much good without her. She’s just a breath of fresh air amongst all the rather ‘serious’ other folks. She can bring some ‘light/comedic’ moments, but isn’t just a caricature either. She feels like a proper, fully-developed person. She and Saru are two of my favourite characters in the show. The third would have to be Georgiou – the Emperor version that we got who ended up coming back with the others from the mirror universe. She’s awesome. It was almost worth losing original Georgiou just so Michelle Yeoh could get to play this other version of her character. She contrasts nicely against the other characters and I’m so glad they didn’t waste her by killing her off too. I’d definitely watch any show that she was at the centre of. Especially if she got to constantly kick arse like this... LOVED that^ kick! Jason Isaacs made for an interesting Captain. If I hadn't been spoiled, I probably wouldn’t have guessed he was a bad guy and from the mirror universe. His obsession with the Michaels was rather bleh, but he made the non-dead version of her more interesting. I liked that he even got to have the odd ‘lighter’ moment on occasion (like when he got killed those bunch of times, or when he put on the Scotty-esque accent to hide his voice from the mirror universe people, or during the reveal of Tilly being Captain in the mirror universe). It’d be interesting to rewatch the season, now knowing what his deal was the whole time. While it does feel like a ‘loss’ for the show (to no longer have one of the ‘stronger’ actors in it anymore), good on the show for not drawing things out and dispatching him before the season was even over. I especially enjoyed the fact Georgiou got to off him...and how! More enjoyable that Lorca’s death, though (for me, anyway), was knowing that BOTH versions of Landry were now dead. I’ve seen the actress who plays her in a number of things, and she’s given the same blank expression and lifeless line deliveries every time I’ve seen her in anything. I really hope she doesn’t appear in any other shows I’m watching/enjoying, as I find she sucks all the enjoyment out of a scene. That’s just my opinion, of course. Ash Tyler was a character who I didn’t mind. He wasn’t the best/most interesting (even though he had probably the most complicated backstory of everyone given that he was originally a Klingon), but he was alright (it was just his scenes with Michael that bored me. With everyone else, he was fine). I didn’t like Stamets to start with. He seemed like a real jerk, but he became likeable around the time he volunteered to take over from the poor abused alien that was helping the ship travel through space in a special way – that made me like him (and Michael too, since she wanted to spare the alien more torture. I was glad to see it freed in the end). The other crewmembers I didn’t really feel like I got to know well enough to form an opinion of. I must be the odd one out, as I didn’t really have a problem with how these new versions of the Klingons looked. I was immediately suspicious of James Frain’s Sarek (but that’s simply because he’s JAMES FRAIN, who usually plays EVIL characters). It was nice to see Mia Kirshner in this show as Amanda, Sarek's wife and ‘mother’ to Michael (as well as Spock, of course, who got a few mentions and who I understand we’ll be seeing a young version of in Season 2...with a beard??). I thought it was a nice way to end the season – with the Enterprise showing up and the classic ST theme music playing over the end credits. For a show I wasn’t that enthused about to begin with, I actually ended up quite enjoying it by the end. And now I must go watch the trailer for Season 2.

Have you seen 'Lost Girl?' That is another similar type of Horror TV show that many 'Buffy' fans liked and I would recommend you check out that one day too but for now you will have a LOT of 'Supernatural' to watch.

I e I’ve yet to see ‘Drag me to Hell’, but ‘Trick r Treat’ was an excellent anthology that truly captures the Halloween spirit. Great bunch of stories, including the wraparound and I usually watch anything with Leslie Bibb. There has been talks for quite awhile about a sequel, so I can’t wait when this eventuates. Just hope it can live up to the original. Thanks for sharing the trailer for ‘Red Widow’. I think around that time I was mainly glued to Foxtel over free-to-air. ‘Bag of Bones’ is a film that kinda past me by. I see it was directed by Mick Garris, who seems to make a living adapting Stephen King.

'Trick 'R Treat' was excellent and Bloody Disgusting said it was "so good that its lack of a theatrical release borders on the criminal." Ohh. Okay. That is good. I actually haven't seen that movie myself. Is it good? I remember hearing about it when it first came out and was going to watch it but I got caught up watching other things and forgot about it. Yeah. 'Lost Girl' has an interesting plot and while it is similar to shows like 'Buffy' and 'Angel' it is very different than any show I have seen before it and I don't think we have ever had another show that had a Succubus as the hero but Anna Silk pulls it off and is the perfect combination of smart, sexy, badass and deadly and her friend, Kenzi was very popular when the show was on too.

I liked the atmosphere and the characters too.

I rarely watch TV series on free-to-air now, even though I don’t have Foxtel or Netflix anymore. In recent times I’ve been been watching DVDs/blurays of TV shows or digging through SBS on demand. The thing I don’t miss about free-to-air is the changing time slots, and how once popular series over time would get buried into the late night graveyard. Channel 7 really did make a habit of it.
