I have tons of TV shows on DVD or Blu-ray but in recent months I all my TV watching has been either current shows on my DVR, or on Netflix. The last one I watched on disk may have been season 1 of "Fear the Walking Dead".
Actually, scratch that. Last one was the British comedy "The Inbetweeners", which I borrowed from the library (all three seasons of it).

True Detective season 1. I don't have season 2 and don't plan on getting it, I didn't like it. Same here. I loved True Detective, maybe the best of its kind I have seen but that's the last full season of any tv series I watched on dvd/blu ray. And I no interest in S2 or the next one I hear they are working on.

I just finished watching Season 4/the final season of Reign on DVD last night. **vague spoilers below** I took a chance on this show, buying Season 1 on DVD when it was first released here, but it hooked me in no time. I do think the first season remains the best/my favourite. There have been some not-so-great episodes and some moments that have really ticked me off since then. However, I really enjoyed Adelaide Kane in the show and feel she wasn’t given the kudos she deserved. The final season, like a lot of shows, didn’t really feel up to the same standard as the previous ones. It had a lot of new characters brought in, hardly any of which I liked, and it felt as though they were dragging things out (every episode I wondered how Darnley was still alive), but then rushed towards the ending (though I did enjoy getting to see Mary be awesome and take her revenge on a certain character in one of the last few episodes). The series final had some “Seriously, WTF?!” moments (especially the random/pointless Satanic three-way with a witch), but Mary, Queen of Scots’ ending was always known even before the show began. Yes, I had hoped they might’ve found some way to ‘fudge’ things (since the show did play fast and loose with history/historical accuracy), but the way they did the end (and brought back a certain someone) was nicely done. I was somewhat disappointed that certain characters didn’t return for the final season/final episode, but even more disappointed that certain characters (the few who’d managed to last/live) didn’t get any proper final scenes with Mary. On the whole, though, I very much enjoyed this show (though the one thing I didn’t enjoy was the animal death), and what happened to a certain character in the Season 3 final remains my biggest shock of the series (as I was unspoiled for it). I will miss this show, some of its characters (though not all), and the fact that it didn’t take itself 100% seriously/could actually have some ‘fun’ at times...just not at the end, apparently. Most of all, I will miss getting to see Adelaide Kane on a regular basis.

I just finished watching Season 4/the final season of Reign on DVD last night. i always loved period dramas and i absolutely adore Megan Follows, although she is ruthless in this. and this seems pretty interesting. i find it more enjoyable than the tudors [henry wasn't a spindly little white boy!] and i just couldn't get into downton abbey [no gentry took that much of an interest in their help]. it doesn't have to be true to the letter but you shouldn't lie through your teeth!

Just finished the final season of Lost on Blu-Ray. The show was really good overall. They introduced too many plot points they didn't know what to do with though. I would rank the seasons 2>1>3>6>5>4

Just finished watching Season 4 of the TV series Younger on DVD last night. It's been a long while since I finished Season 3. I'd bought the first three seasons on DVD and watched them, one after the other, in no time. I got through them pretty quickly (since they're only roughly 20 minute episodes). I quite enjoyed the show, I thought it was funny, and I didn't hate any of the main characters - which is always a plus. Last season ended with Liza confessing the truth about her age to Kelsey. As expected, Kelsey didn't take it particularly well. While her being upset with Liza was understandable, it just didn't make for very fun viewing. So I was glad when they eventually reconciled and were friends again. It was the same with Josh. I could understand him being mad at Liza for cheating on him by kissing Charles (and just when he was about to propose too), but watching him be mad at Liza and not want to talk to her or even hear her name uttered was no fun at all. I was glad to see towards the end of the season when everyone was together and getting along...though that didn't seem to last, given what happened in the season final episode. I know Liza made mistakes, but I just find Sutton Foster so charming in the role that I can't help but feel sorry for her when people are nasty to/mad at her. Also, Sutton's great at comedy. Her reactions/facial expressions never fail to amuse me. One of my favourite instances was her nightmare sequence in Season 1, when she thought Josh was dumb and imagined him saying, "Gotcha some ice. Or ices. What is the plural of ice?", and her reaction was... Hilary Duff can also be quite amusing as Kelsey, but I think the funniest moment with her in the season was from episode 9, during the potato sack race, when she witnessed Josh punch Charles. The slow-mo just added to the comedy factor. Also surprisingly funny is Miriam Shor as Diana Trout. When the show began, I wasn't that fond of her character. However, as it went on, she became more three-dimensional and I really enjoyed her relationship she developed with Liza. Plus, it's always fun to see the variety of 'power statement' jewelry/necklaces Diana wears. Maggie is also a great friend to Liza. She's funny, supportive, but tough too. I was somewhat less impressed with/interested in the guy characters on the show. I really didn't like Josh much this season, and Charles seems unable to make up his mind. I was surprised to see Marcel from The Originals show up as someone for Kelsey to butt heads (and more) with, but I didn't like how he almost made her lose her job). Robert was a jerk to Diana and I'm glad she dumped him. I was undecided on Jay - he seemed nice enough to Liza and kept her secret, but I kept waiting for him to change attitude and blackmail her or something (like certain other characters who learned her secret did). Lauren can be amusing sometimes, but other times she's a bit annoying. I didn't mind Josh's new Irish girlfriend (who Liza fixed him up with - as if inadvertently getting Charles and his ex-wife back together wasn't enough - Liza had a bad habit of doing that sort of thing this season). I mostly enjoyed hearing Clare speak, as I love the Irish accent. Anyway, it was inevitable that there'd be cheating going on at the wedding. I'm not sure how much longer the show can last without becoming repetitive (some might argue that it already has), but I'm still quite enjoying it, so as long as it doesn't greatly dip in quality for me, I'll hopefully continue to enjoy it.
