Did anyone else see the Trailer today? I think it looks pretty good. Jason Bateman, Kyle Chandler, Jesse Plemons, Rachel McAdams and Sharon Horgan (who I love). All likeable actors in a crazy looking comedy. I hope it works.

It's not looking like Rough Night or anything like that, yet.

it was fun. the cast was excellent, and to be honest, better than the script. BUT, it kept me entertained for most of the movie, and I only did mind one or two sub-plots. But it did have outstanding music (by Cliff Martinez, the guy that did Traffic, Sex Lies and Videotape and Drive and Neon Demon) and outstanding supporting character played by Jesse Plemons. That was one awesome character. I want to see a whole movie about Garry the cop. What a handle on being creepy. I enjoyed it equally to my expectations and would recommend it. I give it 7 out of 10 albeit one point is extra just for the awesome awesome music.

I'll probably get around to seeing this eventually . Is it funnier than Horrible Bosses?? not to me. But it is entertaining. I "only" laughed once or twice here (as opposed to HB where I laughed at least half a dozen times) but it did keep me entertained beginning to end.

It was passable, a few fun moments and I generally like Jason Bateman. The Game reimagined as an ensemble comedy.

I'm going 7.5. Def the best studio comedy in a long time, but that speaks to the crappiness of the comedy genre over the past year. I liked Jumanji though but still found it to be more of a family comedy. As far as R rated comedies go, I haven't laughed this hard since Popstar.

I like how the stakes kept getting raised throughout the film and that it kept you guessing as to what was real and a game. Solid 8.5/10 from me.

It was a very solid movie, that worked within its genre and was very enjoyable. I ended up giving it 8 actually in the end, the entertainment level pulled it up.

B+
+ - $17 gag got me good, I was busting. - I wasn't expecting the entire cast to be so capable, usually with these things there's a few hams &/or overactors. - Strong entertainment value from start to finish, no lulls for me at all, rare for this genre.
- - I thought it hovered nearer a safe place than it could've, during the chase sequences for example. They could've easily gone Nolan/Mann style dark to really turn it upside down & raised the stakes for us. - One viewing was probably enough considering its layout as it were. I'd consider blu if there's an ensemble commentary down the road.

Tells you the extent to which I follow movie news that I had absolutely no idea about this.
Everyone seems to have liked it here; it seems like the kind of thing I’d like—mysteries, games-playing, à la The Game and The Last of Sheila—but I’m not quite sure about the comedy, at least from the trailer.
