If the Patriots win, most will say they cheated, if the Patriots lose, watch the media explode (including this forum) with "Should Brady and Belichick retire?" threads because "they don't have it anymore". Implying they lost to a weak Eagles team. The Eagles still don't get respect and they have a lot more to play for than New England. Another trophy for Boston, sure, but Brady has already cemented himself as the greatest QB in a lot of peoples minds so he has nothing to prove.
Eagles have suffered decades of bitter failures sprinkled with a few moments of falling short of the brass ring, one of those loses against this Patriots dynasty and Foles was traded away from Philly a few years back so he's fighting for redemption.

This game is going to blow. Does anyone not from Philly or Boston (or maybe some delusional douche from Maine who thinks New England must represent them) actually want to see this match up? Patriots will win, by how much I don't give the smalkest iota of a fuck. Much better than any MY team

I'll Be rooting for the Eagles and I'm Giants fan! NFC East for the win! lol Nice - I did the same when it was the Giants/Pats in the past How can you not root for them? They're going to be underdogs yet - AGAIN - and they just keep proving everybody wrong. I just don't get all of those who state it's not going to be at least a good game. I can't see them getting blown out. Their worst loss (you can throw out that Dallas loss at the end of the year) was a 24-10 loss in Seattle when they were even in that game. Lost earlier on in season in Arrowhead when the Chiefs were hot and were in that game. They're a very good football team - not weak in one area - a 'team'. Could they lose? Of course. Everybody is expecting it. I'm expecting them to pull out a tight win - I just can't see them getting smoked and think it will be a great game. I never got Eagles fans rooting for the Giants. Not only do I hate the Giants more than the Cowgirls, but New Yorkers are leading the bandwagon for Philly fans being the scrum of the earth and Giants fans are rooting for the Patriots

Mike Trout also predicted an Eagles win off a last-minute Brady interception.

Sounds like the line has gone done from around 6.5 to 4.5 now.
Wow - looks like some heavy action being put on the Birds and people thinking they can pull this off is gaining steam.
Side note - it's still very early - over a week a away - but nobody really knows if Gronk will play. I actually hate to hear this. Never wish injury on another player and as a fan I'd always want to beat an opponent at full strength - I actually hope the guy plays.

Here in Pittsburgh it’s pretty split because whilst Steeler fans hate the Patriots As much as anyone, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia has its own interstate rivalry that is most prominent in hockey but exists in just about any facet of life. So people in my town are kind of split on who they’re rooting for.

Why? How much fun would it be if they came in here the next year if they sucked too? Not much of a rivalry or anything to get pumped up over. When Crosby comes into town and the arena is whipped into a frenzy like old school Jagr with his Mullet and the Pens - it's a blast! This is terrific theater:

I have fond memories of some of those playoff games. When Max Talbot got his ass kicked by Carcillo but shushed the crowd...and subsequently lit a fire under the Penguins ass back in 2009...one of my favorite moments.

Why is Fletcher Cox such a liar? Tells the press he's never watched a Super Bowl, only to have his own tweet unearthed from a few years ago that was almost certainly about Super Bowl 49.

Sounds like the line has gone done from around 6.5 to 4.5 now. Only 4.5 points? People must not have any confidence in Belicheat and Shady Brady. The Eagles are not only playing with a backup QB but also were underdogs AT HOME in their 2 playoff games. The Patriots should be double-digit favorites, just like they were in Super Bowl XLII against the Giants.
If Belicheat and Shady Brady lose this one, their legacy is toast. Losing a 3rd Super Bowl is already pretty bad, but losing it to a backup QB and a team that was an underdog AT HOME in their 2 playoff games would make them the biggest chokers in Super Bowl history.

A 5-3 Super Bowl record is still pretty good, a lot better than your playoff prediction record this season of 2-8 so far. Jesus Christ, even the Cowboys' record this year was better than that, and that's saying something.

But when you go 5-3 in the Super Bowl and all 3 of those losses were to underdogs, that's awful and that definitely removes Belicheat and Shady Brady from any conversation of GOAT.
Joe Montana certainly wouldn't lose a Super Bowl to an underdog, let alone lose 3 Super Bowls to underdogs. Michael Jordan would never lose an NBA Finals to an underdog, let alone lose 3 NBA Finals to underdogs. Losing a 3rd Super Bowl to an underdog would completely destroy Belicheat's and Shady Brady's legacies.

No, Montana would just lose to underdogs before the Super Bowl, which is apparently way better in your delusional mind
To this day, one of the dumbest arguments ever is that somehow going 4-0 in Super Bowls is better than going 4-1, 4-2, 4-3, 4-4, 4-whatever. It's like you don't realize that not being in a Super Bowl means you were eliminated prior to the Super Bowl
