So we got English language remake of Sweden The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which may be close to the original

I found out within the last year that Al Pacino's Scarface was actually a remake of a previous movie. I can't remember what that movie was but the Al Pacino film was awesome and I'd have a hard time believing the original would be better.

It was Scarface (1932) which isn't better than the remake but a good film as well. I'd say they are equal.

I Spit On Your Grave. The Remake is better by far imo.

Better The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) I prefer the lighter tone of the remake and the mask couple.
As good as the original Lolita and the girl with the dragon tattoo

Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Far superior to the 1971 original.

Hitchcock's remake The Man Who Knew Too Much in 1956 was better than his 1934 version IMHO.
