Of course everyone is going to watch the Super Bowl no matter how much they insist they won't. I'm not going to delude myself by thinking Philly is universally beloved, but outside of Philly and New England everyone is going to watch to see if the Eagles can beat the big bad Patriots.

People will watch the Super Bowl. They just try to act hip and edgy by saying they won't watch it because the teams suck or they say they are just going to watch the commercials. People have been saying it every year since I started watching in 1993 and there were probably critics going back to Super Bowl I.

Super Bowl commercials haven't been entertaining for 15 years at least. They used to go all out to get your attention, they were less about the product and more about being wacky. These days every commercial is that way, so the SB commercials don't stand out.

Like when everyone was crying about an SEC National Championship game and swore no one outside the South would watch. Then it was 2nd highest rated espn game of the season Only Rose Bowl was higher.

I’m not complaining because now I don’t get shushed during the commercials anymore. I don’t go to the party for the commercials. I go for the game. Not it to mention some of them have gotten too political

Everyone will be watching the Super Bowl whether they say they will or not, people are trying to look edgy by saying they won’t but all NFL fans will be watching. Also, the Pats are like the Yankees, Lakers, Alabama or Notre Dame football, Duke basketball etc, a lot of people love them and a lot hate them but everyone is obsessed with watching them.

Not only do people love to watch them, they love to read about them. The media pre-Super Bowl is something else; apparently Brady can't wait to get to Minnesota because he has some family there, and he even spent some summers as a child there with his grandparents milking cows on a Minnesota farm. Fascinating stuff!

I must be programmed differently than everyone else. I don't watch teams I don't like. The only Alabama game I watched all year was the Iron Bowl. I don't watch Yankees, Lakers, Jets or Canadiens games unless they're playing a Boston team. Same with any team from Cleveland. I don't understand why you'd watch a team you don't like.

Sports is supposed to be a fun distraction. I don't understand why the whining dolts on this board who constantly bitch about the Patriots would want to watch them play, especially if they think the refs are on their side. Doesn't sound like much fun to me.
