seven was like someone took ricky shroeder from silver spoons and zapped him into a 4 year old. eerie.
and did they really need a cute kid factor? was bud really a cute kid? when the show started he was at that awkward stage where all the cute kid ness went away and he was evolving into a teen.
if anything, the absence of seven and the indifference of the bundy's was not a character plot hole or inconsistency. the bundy's were often indifferent or 'risky' parents when it came to their kids and things that would otherwise send parents to jail.

Exactly. You knew Seven's days in the household were numbered after the "new" factor wore off and Peggy lost interest in him.

I didn't realize how many episodes I missed til I purchased the complete series on dvd and I think I paid only $25 for it, a steal. I would say 75% of the episodes from seasons 1-5 I never watched until then. And they were the best seasons of the series. The later seasons were not bad at all but it was definitely showing signs of wear.
It's not an Emmy type of show, though I much prefer it to most Emmy type shows. It does what any good comedy should do, which is make you laugh. It's vulgar and crude and hilarious.

I enjoyed it. I particularly liked the fact that the wife was not a boring sensible person like wives so often are in family sitcoms nowadays.
