Outside of this site? Or you expect them to screw and ban you at any moment?

Are you asking for methods to trick mods into allowing you to troll? If so that's a great idea for a thread. Definitely a great topic for helpful hints and it assuredly won't give any moderator here insight into who the trolls are

Definitely a great topic for helpful hints and it assuredly won't give any moderator here insight into who the trolls are I don't believe in the word troll. I think harmful conduct can be pointed out without putting an universal label on it. What makes you think there are no mods that don't toss people just not to be challenged, not to lose debates, to rep their clique etc...? Also i made it clear i do not wish to talk about the business of this board.

In my years of online experience I have found that only people that argue for a wider definition of trolls are actual trolls or their apologists. So far this board is a breath of fresh air. The mods here have so far been really good and your asking such a question on this site automatically makes it the business of this site, its users and its moderators. I'm wondering why you asked such a question? Are you trying to figure out if there are users here that are admins from other sites perchance? I'm not sure what you need help with.

I pretty much argued for the ending of the word in the online context. Why should the mods intervene when i clearly said i am not talking about this site in the OP?

I made no comment about anyone intervening. It appears you fear that for some reason. Anyway as for an end to that word, even if you succeeded, the population on the net will just come up with a replacement, so I feel you have set yourself on a wild goose chase that won't end with you achieving anything. Lets return to what I wrote "I have found that only people that argue for a wider definition of trolls are actual trolls or their apologists." You're still doing that which tells me you belong to one of the two groups at the end of my quote. I think your real intention is disinformation.
Also just to be clear you wrote this "Do you have a social contract with most forum moderators?" as your subject heading. That looks like you are referring to the moderators on this site and not elsewhere. Your post then continues ... "Outside of this site? Or you expect them to screw and ban you at any moment?"
Did you mean to write "Do you have a social contract with most forum moderators ... outside this site?" You should probably remove your first question mark and replace it with ellipses as I have, if you want users here to think you are exclusively talking about "outside this site". Revolutionaries tend to be literate.

Why should this thread be the business of the moderators as you mentioned in that case? Nothing really happened here. At least there would be a chance that the word would be more definable.

Outside of this site? Or you expect them to screw and ban you at any moment? I tend to treat them like a friend whose house I'm staying at. As peers but respectful of their rules. If I can't handle that, I'll leave.

Most forums are run quite badly and are made up of cliques. You can expect to be banned or booted at any moment usually just for disagreeing with or even standing up for yourself when members of the clique attack you.
A lot of Moderators are also trolls themselves.

@bartlesby I have left a great many forums for that reason. But the point is, most forums die due to poor management.

You probably got dropped from a lot of forums because you're antagonistic towards authority figures. Most of them die because of waning interest. I suppose you could blame that on how they're managed but that's a different beast from how they're moderated.

Yes, in that they have powers normal users do not. But since certain people have pre-existing issues with authority it matters little how well or how bad admins and moderators behave.
