What's funny to me is that Philly guys in this thread don't understand why Vikings fans are upset. "We're used to people acting like assholes, toughen up!" The fact that this behavior is typical in your eyes pretty much says it all. Clearly Minnesota fans had never experienced anything like it, or they wouldn't be talking about it as much as they are. No. There were plenty of Vikings fans arrested. Plenty of them in fights and spitting at fans while getting kicked out of the game. It was going both ways. As I stated, was anyone shot? Stabbed? No? Okay then. Terrible things happen with fans and stadiums all of the time. It is unfortunate, but only a very small minority of fans here act this way. They are the ones who get all of the press.

We are somehow the worst fans in sports but have you ever seen a visiting team take over one of our stadiums? Could this have anything to do with the fact that visiting fans are slightly hesitant to go to Philly for fear of being hit by glass bottles, full beer cans, and vomit? Dude, no-one is saying that Eagles fans are bad based on an idea that they don't sell out their stadium.

You're basing your entire argument on the fallout of this game. What many of us have already told you is that Philly has had a terrible reputation forever. Philadelphia fans are widely recognized as the worst fans is America, and you're proving it in this thread. Hell, you started this thread to taunt Vikings fans when they hadn't said a damn thing on this board! And Vikings fans, being the polite Midwesterners that they are, are still rooting for you guys because nobody likes the Patriots-- or did you miss that exchange right here in this thread? But by all means, keep calling them out for being awful because they aren't bitching about their team making it to a NFC championship game after going a full season with a journeyman QB.

I have seen countless news reports from Minnesota and countless social media posts about this. How you may have missed it is beyond me. The media is terrible. They do not care about facts and have not in a long time. They want ratings and making fun of Philly seems to be the popular thing to do. When a Philly fan does ANYTHING, they bring it up in the media. That is why you hear about it constantly. Lakers win and they burn LA down? Who cares? Oakland Raiders fans get shot outside the stadium? Oh well. Nothing to see here. I could tell a violent story from any NFL game this season I am sure. Philly fans threw snowballs at a drunk Santa over 60 years ago? Let's bring this up anytime Philly sports are ever mentioned until the end of time.

And why do we have this reputation? Why does everyone hate Philly and think that we are the worst? Because 60 years ago we threw snowballs at a pathetic drunken Santa and ever since then the media takes great delight in pointing out every single incident that happens here without mentioning that Detroit burns down their city when they win or Dodger stadium is like a gang war zone or that you get beaten up at Ravens games or than the Giants had a snowball game too or 10,000 other thing at other cities, but if a Philadelphian looks at you funny we are the worst fans in the world. Every city has hooligan fans that make them look bad, but they only report Philly. What if I said Boston's fans are nothing but white trash Irish racists because of the Adam Jones story? Don't like being stereotyped, do you? I don't believe it, but it's the same thing. A few drinks make your whole city look bad. The same goes everywhere, find another storyline.

And I already told you on page one that is has nothing to do with Santa. Your city is renowned for having a shitty attitude in general, not just for sports. Again, why did you start this thread? Your team won! You started a thread to taunt Vikings fans for no good reason. Your crowd cheered when Michael Irvin hurt his neck. They cheered when a Falcons player limped off the field two weeks ago. Philadelphians are known to be awful.

And I've also mentioned Philadelphians as being rude from personal experience, an opinion that has been shared by many people when talking about the worst cities in America. I'm sure you could dig up negative stories about Boston fans. The difference is, I didn't start a thread taunting the fans that my team just beat to prove my moral superiority.

unfortunately we're all labeled as this guy The thing is frogs, I don't have a problem with you or frank or DSD (other than starting this thread). You don't seem like the kind of guys who would make a 'F-ck Millie' sign or smash a hitchhiking robot. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of starting a thread specifically to be a jerk to fans who were upset that Philly fans were jerks. I never said every person in Philly is an a-hole, only that many people seem to have a negative opinion of Philadelphians in general and it doesn't come from nowhere.

Well I didn't create this thread, but I'm responding to what I feel is unfair. But I do apologize for you being treated rudely on the occasions you've been here. Philly is a wonderful diverse city with more good people than can be counted. On behalf of the good ones and to make up for the bad ones, should you ever find yourself back in these parts, send me a message, you won't have to pay for your drinks for the duration of your stay. We can talk sports and shatter stereotypes and maybe have you go back to the Boston area with a better impression of our town.

I know for a 100% fact that if the Falcons beat us two weeks ago the threads here from a couple of posters would be brutal. There would have been ten minimum. I started this thread in response to the countless media stories I have heard all week since the game. I cannot go on any social media site without seeing Vikings fans complaining that Philly is responsible for every bad thing that ever happened to them. Therefore, I made this post. This is the only place I really talk about sports. I love how Cowboys fans like Beardy or DC Fan will make post after post talking crap about Philly, New England, whomever, completely unprovoked. Then I reply, granted in a snotty way, and I am all of the sudden 'butt hurt' or a troll. I was told that Philly has gotten lucky all year. They haven't played anyone. They were 100% one and done against Atlanta. I was told that on here every day and was a complete moron for even thinking otherwise. Then, once Atlanta was beaten, they were mysteriously never good and the Vikings were going to destroy the Eagles. I wondered how it was even possible the Vikings were the favorites. The Eagles are just a better team. I was called a homer and a moron again for even suggesting this. 38-7 later and now the Eagles have no chance against the Patriots. See a pattern? The only difference is that this time the Eagles deserve to be the underdogs. I think 5 is crazy. I would make it 2.5, but still.

I saw an undefeated team crap the bed in a Super Bowl, so there's no reason to think this is going to be an automatic win for the Patriots. It's football, anything can happen in one game.

And in the city's defense, there is definitely a media cycle perpetuating the negative stereotypes about Philly. It's just disappointing to see a thread like this where the OP was seemingly oblivious to the irony. Like I said, I don't have a problem with you guys, I don't think the stereotypes apply on this board. I hope the fans of both cities represent their respective regions with class (as much as can be expected by Super Bowl revelers, I suppose) in Minneapolis.

One is the BBT Center or whatever they call it now, it's had like 43 different names since it was first called the Blockbuster E-Center. Lots of great concerts there. Two is the aquarium. Great place to spend the day with your kids and see some fish. Three is a restaurant called The Pub. Great food in a restaurant the size of a Costco. Otherwise, it's a real crackville murder town. Camden is both a single bridge and a million miles from Philly. I'll defend Philly to my death but make no excuses for NJ. If Lex Luther did what he did to CA in the first Superman but landed his missiles in the Delaware river thereby breaking New Jersey from the map, I'd be ok with that. Fuckin Chris Christie Snookie Bon Jovi Springsteen backwards ass state.

Please do not venture too far from the aquarium. That city is hot garbage. I do not mean that in an offensive way to anyone from there. It is just that the city has turned into a crime ridden wasteland. You walk two blocks from the 'nice' tourist areas and you are libel to get shot by a crack head.

I really thought this thread was beneath you, but as sports fans we get worked up over trivial stuff sometimes. As a Pats fan I understand all the hate but I still respond to more anti-Pats posts than I should. It's ok to disagree on an issue, as long as we don't let the internet trick us into seeing each other as walking stereotypes instead of complete people.
