Furthermore, since you think calling someone a monkey is racist, where does calling someone a dog fit in your warped view of reality? It is most certainly racist as we all know the underlying implication of calling a black person a "monkey". It is rather obviously nothing like calling a person a dog, pig, whale or donkey. I would suggest that nobody ever uses that word as an insult in any form on this forum (or any insult for that matter). You shouldn't even have to be told something like that. Now aside from that, I honestly do not recall Weirdraptor calling someone a "monkey" in his final thread. I'm not saying it wasn't there, all I recall was him insulting a bunch of posters on the board so I just deleted straight away without reading it in detail. As for this thread it's becoming a bit too mean spirited so people in general should probably take a step back but if the Admin himself hasn't locked the thread then I won't either unless it becomes too toxic. For someone who was raised in NC and SC, I can most definitely tell you that Monkey is used for a racial slur. Some just use it to replace saying the n-word, like thug recently. Thug is being used more and more by people around me as a replacement slur. (especially on the golf course) One variant of monkey, is Porch Monkey you hear that one a lot around here. Just like thug though monkey does have non racist definitions, it doesn't mean they aren't used as racial slurs.

I've never known a white person to be called a monkey as an insult.
This is like the insult whale being used to refer to a fat person. It would not be used on a slim person. A dog would be used as an insult on an unattractive person.
So they aren't just random general insults that are used on everybody, they have a meaning and in this case calling a black person a monkey is extremely racist.

Even calling a black person that without that background is a racial insult (learn racial history), see the recent H&M monkey scandal.
