"Race" was by far the best movie of 2016, I can't believe it didn't get any nominations. I turned off "Hacksaw Ridge" after 30 minutes. I find it hard to believe the army would put up with Garfield's nonsense true story or not. Those Academy nominations involve a lot of insider dealing and politics. Race was a small Canadian film. You might be pleased to know, however, that it is up for eight Canadian Screen Awards (which is the Canadian Academy Awards), including Best Picture.
