Those Academy nominations involve a lot of insider dealing and politics. Race was a small Canadian film. You might be pleased to know, however, that it is up for eight Canadian Screen Awards (which is the Canadian Academy Awards), including Best Picture. (Even though it's only the 5th Canadian Screen Awards, the awards have been going on since 1949, they just changed its name 5 years ago.)
