James I's reign was 1603-25, as the OP says. Charles II was James I's grandson. His reign was 1660-85. The Glorious Adventure is about the Great Fire of London (1666).

James I's reign was 1603-25, as the OP says. Charles II was James I's grandson. His reign was 1660-85. The Glorious Adventure is about the Great Fire of London (1666) The OP does not require anything about James I.

Hamlet was written between 1599 and 1602. Experts put the composition of Romeo & Juliet at the latest... 1596.
That puts them both in the Elizabethan era.
