Why wouldn’t “God” just appear before the actual Jury themselves, and tell THEM to vote not guilty? Why go through a third party (when that’s not even his job)?

Is he still a judge? Hope not. He's still on the bench. And, as yet, no one is running against him for reelection in November. So he may have four more years!

I'd say this is perfectly in keeping with God's M.O. Want to get a message to people? Appoint a prophet to pass it on. Or have some men write it out, get it translated, and leave it in hotel rooms.

I'd say this is perfectly in keeping with God's M.O. Want to get a message to people? Appoint a prophet to pass it on. Or have some men write it out, get it translated, and leave it in hotel rooms. It's a little different so it's not perfect. People knew who the prophets were (With the possible exception of Jonah who was just proclaiming a judgement warning) either by reputation or sign of authenticity or verification. Apparently only the judge knew he was a prophet. Plus they didn't usually go to a jury, but rather to the person(s) the prophecy addressed. So if the judge had gone to the defendant and told him the prophecy, this would have some weight to it. Of course, if he was still found guilty, then the judge would have to go "Oopsy, he must have been talking about someone else." Of course part II, prophets often focused on institutions whether it was the king, divine arrangements, or the priesthood, or even an enemy. So if ones were to conclude that the jury was an institution then it could fly that god was sending a message to the jury through the judge who is a part of the institution to, but still could operate in parts...Such as when Samuel prophesied to the high priest that he would die for being a sucky father.

I could see an appeal coming.... Don't see how you could appeal it. If he'd told them to find her guilty and they had, sure. But since they ignored what he said, you couldn't argue that it resulted in an unfair trial.

Assuming the story is true:
The jury found the defendant guilty anyway. Good. But the judge should not be a judge anymore. He represents a country that was founded on separation of church and state. If he had wanted God's word to be heard, he should have called God as a witness, or appointed God as the attorney of the defendant and then stepped down because of partiality.
He didn't do either. In my opinion this makes him unfit to be a judge.

Oh it's true all right. God confirmed it later on Twitter. You can't do that. Witnesses are not allowed to swear to themselves. Now you're just being silly. God isn't licensed to practice in the state of Texas.

how does god find the time? i mean, first he forms a perfect union in the united states of america, blesses us above all others with leaders like nixon and g.w. bush. has the foresight to arm us to the hilt and then some. and now he has time to inform judges on how jury's should vote.
