Maggie Gyllenhaal is pretty perplexing.

Cage will rise like the proverbial phoenix to remind us why he won an Oscar back in the 1990s.

William Hurt - maybe it's just me, but how does anyone not fall asleep listening to/watching this guy?
Maggie Gyllenhaal - strange. Somehow she is consistently awkward, no matter her character/role. Not a big fan of Jake, but I think he's much better. "Southpaw" was pretty good.
Steven Seagall - A one-trick pony if there ever was one...he got a lot of mileage out of the trick, I'll give him that.

Cage will rise like the proverbial phoenix to remind us why he won an Oscar back in the 1990s. I wish Cage would dial the hair plugs back a little bit (could be a full on toupee by now) and embrace his age. I never understood the appeal of him as a leading man since "Gone in 60 Seconds." He could be a great older character actor...tired of seeing him in a leather jacket pretending he's 20 years younger. He does it with as much subtlety as killing a fly with a bazooka.

He works better in roles like Raising Arizona.

Mickey Rooney.
Never was there a film made that wasn't made worse by having him in the cast.

Clint Eastwood. Lets run the gamut of Clint's emotions and expressions, all one of them.
Robert Culp.
As for Cage, I'm not sure it just isn't that his movies suck donkey dongs. Not impressed with him, but he hasn't been in movies with stellar writing.

But do you think James Franco or Nicholas Cage would have been better in it?
