Jim Rockford from The Rockford Files.
Maybe Charlie's Angles just for the eye candy.

I would say Jessica Fletcher (mystery writer/private detective) but that would mean someone was murdered and I would be under arrest. If she was for real, having her around would actually make me nervous. People died where ever she went.

Hmm...
While I like many of these characters, I'm not sure I'd want to hire many of them!
I'd go with Columbo, but he's a policeman, not a PI, of course.
As for actual PIs, I'm not all that big a fan of The Rockford Files, but I probably would want to hire Jim Rockford. Seems like a good kinda guy who'll get the job done.
Does Philip Marlowe count? Not quite TV, at least not created for TV, but he's one of the few fictional detectives (along with Holmes, Ellery Queen, and Dr. Fell) with whom I'd be interested in sitting back and talking, as well as letting them solve my case.

Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot & Columbo combining their skills I'm not sure the world would be able to contain the conflict of egos between the first two.

Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot & Columbo combining their skills I'm not sure the world would be able to contain the conflict of egos between the first two. It would be quite unbearable for a bystander I suppose, but highly amusing too and bad news for criminals.

I'd hire both Hercule Poirot and Adrian Monk, and then watch them have an OCD-fueled fight.
