Just watched it for the first time. It was... meh. I think it got a little over hyped. I remember people saying it was one of the best movies ever. It's alright, a solid 6/10 for me.

HATED it! Another one of those bait and switch sci fi movies that promises to be an intelligent well written alien movie but ends up being a hoaky overly sentimental story in which the aliens are completely irrelevant.

I liked it quite a bit. I've only seen it once though so maybe my rating might go down on a re watch but I remember seeing this in theaters and being in complete awe of the alien space crafts. My only gripe was that the way the aliens actually looked (like giant squids or something ) was a letdown lol. Other than that minor complaint, I thought it was seriously well done. I loved how it all came together in the end 8/10

I liked it (8/10), but I haven't seen it in so long that it probably needs a rewatch. Villeneuve is a genius, so I can't see my score going down.

I watched it for the first time since theaters around Christmas time and it jumped to a 10 for me. And I’ve seen it twice more since that Christmas viewing and now I’d consider it to be one of my favorite films— probably top 25.

The second and third times I watched it my score went from a low 8 to a solid 9. There must be something with a Villeneuve movie that makes it age beautifully (Prisoners gets better every time I watch it as well). I definitely need to buy Arrival and rewatch it soon.

4/10 Starts out good but gets really boring. By the end of it I really just stopped caring. Basically its like watching octopuses make circles.

Ironinically I had ‘Sicario’ at a 6 when I saw it in 2015. Granted I was such a dumb movie goer back then. It’s a 9 for me as well now. I agree about his films aging well, every time I watch a film from him I get something more out of it.

Sorta weird. It's supposed to be uplifting at the end and yet feels strangely depressing still. It made me want to cry.

It's one of the best science fiction films that I have seen and one of my favorite films of 2016. Amy Adams gave a great performance. It needs a re-watch.
