Very Underrated Movie (to me at least) in the whole "FRIDAY THE 13TH" Franchise.
I actually Enjoyed It!

I actually JUST made a video inspired by it in honor of the video game introducing Roy:

I never understood the hate it gets. It’s not actually Jason but it might as well be. All the staples are there and there’s some pretty unique kills. It’s better than about half the series I’d say.

I liked it. It wasn't as good as 'Friday the 13th 6: Jason Lives' which was the best movie in my opinion but it is one of the best in the series and a far cry from the awful 'Jason Goes to Hell' movie.

Your Being Too Nice! I think that both "JASON GOES TO HELL" and "JASON X" are Complete and Total Disgraceful ABOMINATIONS!

The thing about Jason Goes to Hell is that I like the whole idea and plot however it was just not right for a Friday film.

If it was a separate movie with a new character I would probably be more accepting of it but after having eight 'Friday the 13th' movies I found it really silly that Jason all of a sudden turned into some weird demon worm that could take over people's bodies and ate hearts and it was like the writers had never watched any of the previous movies which was why 'A Nightmare On Elm Street 2' was full of continuity errors.

I hate the film, but I dislike all of the Friday the 13th movies. Boring characters being killed off by a boring killer and that pretty much sums up the entire idiotic franchise.
Some of the Friday the 13th movies are at least mildly amusing. A New Beginning is one of the worst of the franchise.

@deblovesbeccy
6 is my least favorite of the series made by Paramount. I really wish they had kept the original idea of Tommy becoming the new killer. And I think John Shepherd is a much better Tommy than Thom Matthews.
But 6 does have one of the most excellent trailers of any horror movie ever.

Not the worst film in the series by a long shot. People hate on it because Jason wasn't the killer, but he wasn't the killer in the original either.
It's a typical B movie slasher. It's pretty campy, but enjoyable to an extent. I give it 5.5-6/10.

I liked it. It wasn't as good as 'Friday the 13th 6: Jason Lives' which was the best movie in my opinion but it is one of the best in the series and a far cry from the awful 'Jason Goes to Hell' movie. I have had a difficult time tossing up between V and VI being my favorites, but recently I have come to the conclusion, that V is the one I prefer. It is also the one that I think I have watched the most. I love the setting, the characters and the high body count, and while it was tamed down by the US MPAA censors, it still works really well. Part VI has a great atmosphere too, but this one, along with part VII, were well and truly butchered by the MPAA, taking away some of raison detre of the films. I liked 'Jason Lives' the most 'cause I like what they made him into when he came back and I think Tommy was better as the hero and never understood why they didn't bring him back for one last movie 'cause he was the only person who beat Jason twice and you would think Jason would have wanted to exact revenge on him but it is the same with Freddy and Alice in the 'Nightmare On Elm Street' movies and I would have loved another 'Nightmare On Elm Street' movie with Lisa Wilcox returning as Alice. I did hear they cut a lot of things out of these movies and I am surprised they have not put the scenes back in on the DVD and Blu Ray releases 'cause what was considered controversial back then is probably not that bad by today's standards. That being said I heard 'Jason Takes Manhattan' was changed the most and they rewrote half the script to make it less violent and less expensive.
